Watched the Superbad director's commentary last night. Still a 10.

Superbad gets too much credit. I mean, it's good. But not fantastic.

It's a solid 8/10 for me.

The Wolf of Wall Street

I've heard a few criticisms of it. Namely, either that it is nothing but one long sensationalization of hookers and drugs, or that it was too long, or that it glamorized Belfort's actions.

Now, perhaps the length didn't bother me because I paused it and got up from time to time. But I didn't think they were pushing past the plot with the length. The end still seemed rather relevant to the story.

And based on the former criticism, I was expecting to see more hookers than I did (though admittedly, they weren't far off with the drug use).

Frankly, I thought it made Belfort out to be the asshole he was/is. I've met two people who have actually done work for/with him (in his ventures after jail), and they say he's still a complete dick, though the fact that he ought to be in default of his back payments to the defrauded investors should be plenty indication of that.

There were times, however, when it was somewhat slow. Not irrelevant, but slow.

Still, I'd give it an 9 out of 10. Hell, Margot Robbie alone puts it at at least a 7.

Thinking I been wanting to see this one, but the less hookers than ya expected concerns me!

I dont mind long movies, 2 plus hours. I feel cheated if they are closer to the 90 minute mark.

It's close to 3 hours. By "less hookers," I mean that I was led to believe the plot was light, and that the movie was just an excuse to show a ton of hookers and blow.

Frozen: 7/10

Songs were good and the snow queen character was voiced by the same chick that played Elphaba in Wicked so she can obviously sing.

The snowman and the reindeer were the best parts of the movie.

Plot was sort of "meh" and the final conflict resolution was lacking but that's to be expected with a children's film.

Word on the street is that they want to make it into a Broadway musical sooner than later. I haven't seen it yet, but the reviews seem pretty good.

Frozen got ripped off at the Golden Globes. The song they were nominated for was much better than the U2 song that won.

Nope to both.

I don't have to be invested in an award show to think the choice of winner was badly done. It'll be the same way with the Emmy's if Breaking Bad doesn't win pretty much everything, I won't be upset or anything like that but I'll find it to be the wrong decision.

Making a remark about the quality/lack of quality of a decision or film or product or whatever doesn't imply an emotional investment in that thing.

TL;DR: I find it interesting to see which shows/movies do or don't win Emmy's or Golden Globes or Oscars. If you have a problem with that well good for you, you probably think I'm stupid. Wouldn't be the first or last person. :)

My exact sentiment and ranking for it.

The last line did make me 'lol' as well.

"Fuck you, Sally."
