My point is how can a lineman be your Heisman winner if he isn't even unanimously considered the best lineman in the country? It's different for a QB or RB, but for a lineman to be considered a Heisman candidate he has to be THE BEST, period. jmo.queencitybuckeye;1547403 wrote:Pro potential != college performance.

What about Suh? Suh was the best player in CFB that year and didn't win. What a joke.vball10set;1547396 wrote:A MAC player was taken ahead of him in the draft...just sayin'

What about him? I said the criteria for a lineman to be considered for the Heisman he had to be arguably the best at his position, and Suh was. I know he didn't win, and maybe he should have, but that wasn't the point I was making.sleeper;1547434 wrote:What about Suh? Suh was the best player in CFB that year and didn't win. What a joke.

No the point we should be making is the Heisman doesn't go to the best player or the best pro prospect; it simply goes to best player on a top 5 team who happens to be a QB or RB.vball10set;1547438 wrote:What about him? Yeah, it's always been like that...that's the way it goes.sleeper;1547446 wrote:No the point we should be making is the Heisman doesn't go to the best player or the best pro prospect; it simply goes to best player on a top 5 team who happens to be a QB or RB.

Good MAC player, not the best player in the country as this award is supposed to be. Doesn't matter what anyone thinks. if Winston is not sitting in jail by 12-9, he wins easily. McCarron blew it when they lost Saturday, Miller and Hyde didn't play enough games. There just aren't that many good candidates out there. The fact that Jordan Lynch even gets mentioned proves that.Zombaypirate;1547094 wrote:The Heisman is a complete joke. Jordan Lynch should win this with ease.

I think Andre Williams should definitely be invited, though he did struggle against USC and Clemson. He did go for 150 against FSU though.

Remember back in Sept. when everyone thought it would be Manzier vs. Clowney? Just another huge chunk out of the SEC mystique.

If the Heisman was really about the best college football player, Orlando Pace would have won it when he was at OSU.

It's a shame Hyde had to miss 3 games. Had he played the entire season, he probably would be the front-runner for the Heisman.

I would advocate for Hyde before Miller. Braxton's numbers don't really support being a Heisman candidate.

Anyone that thinks Miller should've been nominated is on crack. He had 3 really good games, but he missed a couple, and was very average passing the ball in others. If any OSU player deserved it, Hyde was the guy.

If neither one missed any games, they both might be at the invite IMO. I doubt there has EVER been a player invited who missed the amount of games these guys did. Like it or not, the Heisman is mostly about the numbers. If both had been played every game, their numbers, as well as OSU success, would have had them in NY IMO.se-alum;1551431 wrote:Anyone that thinks Miller should've been nominated is on crack. I believe last week he said he was almost postive he would be back. Although he said he hasn't hide time to think or really look into it much. I can't imagine him leaving. Expecially after that loss.rrfan;1551508 wrote:Is Braxton coming back next year?

If Miller leaves, he'll be working night shift at the Citgo, he won't be playing in the NFL.

The fact that ONE of them (Miller / Hyde) didn't get invited is a travesty. How do you invite 6 finalists, and 1 of them isn't Hyde or Miller?! That's just mind-blowing to me.
