I see. Do you ever use logical thought and imagine what a ufo may look like?

Logic and imagination doesn't go together. The point is you though amazon was making a military sized airplane drone to deliver packages and that brought the lulz.

Seems stupid to me. And do you get to keep that box? I also hope it doesn't drop the package in the middle of the sidewalk.

If you order it, and need it that bad, you're going to be there waiting for it. They're talking an hour or less delivery times.

Not necessarily. If I'm at work and have the choice to have it waiting for me when I get home, or 5 days, I'll take the former.

Well if it's fully automated...a worker would scan the address (likely already printed on the box), and load the drone and it's off. If you're talking a 10-mile radius you are doing 4-5 packages an hour. Probably no labor difference loading a drone vs. a truck, and you save on the truck driver labor. Probably some fuel savings, too.

The problem is people would have to put the exact GPS location to drop the package - otherwise it could drop it in your driveway, your backyard or maybe your roof! I assume these things could be relatively safe to avoid running into people and buildings.

Yea, cool concept, just doesn't seem logistically feasible.

I was with 2 people watching this yesterday, both legally own guns, and both said "I would shoot those things down if I saw them hovering over me" almost immediately.
And both would then go to jail and never again be allowed to legally own guns.

If you don't think this is completely legitimate or that Amazon will never do this, you are not ready for the future.

I'd assume they have some sort of camera on them and lets be real, people firing shots in the city is going to raise a few eyebrows. Though its pretty common in Chicago..

regardless, I'm not a fan of the idea.

A belief.

I'm not saying they'll never do it but not within 4-5 years.
