Seasons 1 & 3 are probably the best ever. Season 2 and 5 were pretty good, but not nearly the same level. Season 4 was pretty weak.

IMO, the only series that were consistently excellent with virtually no drop-off are Breaking Bad and The Shield.

I've not built up the resolve to watch it. Some day.

Not really a binge watch, but catch up on The Blacklist if you haven't been watching.

Forgot about that one. Have really enjoyed it. Follows the same kind of formula as Person Of Interest in that each episode is really good, but there's also like 10 minutes of that larger story arc that makes it something more.

And almost everything James Spader has done on tv in recent years has been gold. It's funny because it's all the same character basically, but such a great character.

I think it's just that 120 episodes or whatever is daunting. That's gotta be a solid 80 hours+

Deadwood and Rome are both good because there are only two seasons. Obviously Game of Thrones and The Wire. First 3-4 seasons of Sopranos are definitely up there.
I agree with pretty much all of this. Boardwalk is great, but it's too slow to binge watch.

I'm finally getting around to finishing Breaking Bad, but Rome is probably next on my list... along with possibly Carnivale.

I just love the architecture and history with Rome (not that it is a historical account - maybe, I don't know). Such a shame that they canceled it for budget reasons, but they do a serviceable job of wrapping it up. Just two seasons, but it really is an awesome spectacle.

Never watched Carnivale.

Sopranos will suck you in. You won't NOT be able to watch all 6 seasons, and well I'll leave it at that.

If you're going to watch Sopranos, go for the DVD's that have extended commentary. David Chase kind of indulges himself (which is an understatement), and it's a much richer experience if you understand all the symbolism and foreshadowing. Nobody really wants to put that kind of effort in at this point, so get the cliff notes.

I just finished Breaking Bad and I can't believe there is a show better than that. Just started The Walking Dead. I recommend Person of Interest too. Great show.

How did you watch the first two seasons? I am assuming through some of the tv sites? Hulu and Netflix need to carry it. I know of a lot of people who want to watch it.

So is a certain character's(nameless for people who havent seen it yet) foreign wife from last season. Damn!

Is another good one. Even has The Wire and Sopranos...thousands of series. Now I understand how people cut the cord (I wonder when the cable companies start cracking down on these sites)

When she says... "finish me." Good lord.

I watched on Showtime On Demand through Verizon FiOS.

friendfromlowry recommended Justified to me.

I blasted through all of the current seasons. It's alright. Definitely tapered down from season 3 to 4, though.
