LOL musical ability isn't opinion based. It's quantifiable. Like if we take a test, and one of us gets a B and one of us gets a C, the one who got the C can't just say that he did better on the test and that holds up because it's an opinion. Opinions can be wrong you know? In this case, it's not an opinion. It's a simple fact, the members of DMB are top level musicians. Every one of them. Their bass player is a prodigy. Dave Matthews is considered one of the best composers of our day. Their drummer is considered one of the best drummers in the world. It goes on and on. It's a collection of top level musicians. Nickelback is not. Liking this song or that song is based on opinion. Really Michigan hasn't been there since 2007 now, Texas has been mediocre for the last 4 years and Notre Dame has developed no consistency at all. The problem is, the comparisons here are not the same piece of music. This is where Me?'s argument breaks down. If two people take a test, one gets a B, and the other gets a C. The former can indeed claim to be better than the latter.
However, if the first person takes Test 1 and gets a B, but the second person takes Test 12 and gets a C, there's no point of comparison.
If person A plays Claire de Lune on piano, and person B plays Boplicity on trumpet ... you can't compare the two.
