The wife and I took some of our valuables, money, jewelry and weapons / ammo we had upstairs to the basement just in case of heavily home damage from the winds. Things like food, water, batteries, candles additional blankets, clothing was already in the basement storage area.
I feel sorry for you. Every time there's something as simple as a severe storm, you're preparing yourself for looters, like people are just waiting to steal your shit as soon as something bad happens. It's too bad you view everyone else in life as evil.
Do you watch the news? Every time an area is destroyed (ex: Joplin, Missouri) it receives national news, the Red Cross shows up, the town bands together and rebuilds and helps everyone. Before you point out New Orleans (Katrina) or New York (Sandy), those are areas much different than Ohio and those disasters are unique to the coast. And usually entail time to prepare.
