Heard this story the other day. People use halloween to be outrageous. Clearly it's in bad taste and she wanted to shock people. Is it any different than people dressing up as Steve Irwin or Christopher Reeves as Superman in a wheel chair? Also saw the Asian airline pilots costume as well as a Zimmerman and Trayvon costume.

I think you have to have some common sense and not wear it to work but man, to get fired over it sucks.

There is some difference. People in the public eye have always been treated differently. If one chooses the life of a celebrity one lives the life of one (even in death).

Really? So celebrities aren't human beings? Christopher Reeves is paralyzed but since he was superman it's cool to crack a joke.

While I do think the costume was in bad taste I certainly don't think she should have been fired over it. Have you seen her nude pics that have surfaced? Damn.

I didn't say it was cool, I said it was different. If you make your living off of your persona, you have to take the good with the bad. How many "naughty Pope" costumes does one see? Does the Pope care?

If celebrities weren't up for satire and ridicule South Park would never have existed.

It was stupid, but who cares really? Fired over it? Why not pull her aside and tell her how stupid she was? Peoples' feelz get hurt way too easy.
