Manning was never a "sure thing" many people had questions regarding him. It was probably at 70/30 spilt on him with Ryan Leaf.

Definitely true. Although I'd say that a lot of sports chatter/opinion is in the same vein (ignorance). Not everyone takes the time to actually watch enough, or understand the subtleties enough, to make a truly educated opinion (I'm just as guilty of doing this too).

I don't have a problem with it, but from time to time it becomes painfully obvious when that's the case like right now with Manziel's "inaccuracy" or "inability to read defenses".

If the 30 were idiots, then yes. It isn't as if sportswriters get everything correct. For many people it was a no-brainer.

LOL...they've both worked with Whitfield, so obviously they both progressed the same, gotcha. You're claiming that just working with Whitfield makes you equally as good as all other QB's that have worked with Whitfield, in all aspects of playing QB. Well, he's worked with over 20 QB's currently playing college football, and most of them aren't very good. So just saying one is as good as the other at an aspect of playing QB, just because they used the same QB coach is ludicrous.

He has a better chance than most if he grows 4 inches and adds 20 lbs. of muscle. Until then he is Ty Detmer reincarnated with a shittier attitude.

I've never been a big fan of the height argument. I think you can be successful in the NFL if your around 6'. It's been proven.

Drew Brees isn't a headcase, is far more dedicated to improving his game and even then...he's had to rely on a system that allows him to utilize his quick release.

Just because he can be in MLB means absolutely nothing to being more athletic. There is no chance Wilson is more athletic than Manziel.

Just to further the point, Manziel ran for 17 fewer yards last year alone than Wilson did in his entire 4 years.

LOL...what? What does that have to do with anything? Because he was a low level minor league baseball player(and not a good one at that), he is more athletic than Johnny Manziel?

Well, he ran a 4.5 in high school w/ a 31" vertical. No reason that those numbers aren't better now after having 3 years of a college football speed and strength program.

Wait, wait, you would be shocked if he doesn't match that? Wilson did that at the combine with all of the pressure in the world. This isn't high school where you just guess what your stats are. This is the real deal, not guesstimating.
