Who is going to be the cream of the crop this year? Dalton has to be the favorites returning quite a bit of talent after an impressive season last year. Can anyone knock them off the throne this season? Any early predictions for league MVP? Also, predictions for where each team finishes up could be difficult, but feel free to give it a shot. The season will be upon us before we know it!

Looking forward to the hardwood getting ramped up. This season looks wide open to me. I see a very balanced, competitive league. I obviously know the bulldogs best. They have a new coach in Ben Holt this year, so it remains to be seen how the players mesh with him. On the bright side, he will have quite a bit of talent returning - 4 of their top seven from last year in guards Cody Huth and Zach Zyder as well as big guys Adam Metzger and Connor Clark. The down side is the three guys they lost were very good (Moyer, masters, bowe). There is some decent depth as well.
I do not see hillsdale being very good at all. I think everyone else will be competitive at least. I am expecting very strong teams in waynedale, and chippewa especially. I also think Norwayne and northwestern have the potential to be quite good as well. I have a few more questions on Smithville and rittman, but both do have players. I can't really wrap my head around ranking them at this point. The other thing I am excited about is dalton moving back to the Wooster district for the tourney.

I saw Dalton play a few times last year. They should be solid this season, but they will really miss Chase Moyer. He did a lot for that team the past few years. I think they will have to adjust to playing without him. I have heard they have a freshmen that has the potential to be really good. Will he play right away? Is he good enough to start right off the bat? I also heard that their Orrville transfer from last year has quit the team? Anybody else hear that?

Agree with the loss of Moyer - that will be an adjustment. I don't know how much varsity playing time fresh. Mitchell Clark will get this year, but he was on the varsity roster in the paper this week for whatever that's worth. I hear he is talented, a big kid that can play outside as well. The orrville kid you are referring to was not in the paper so you may be right, I have not heard. He had played pg on jv as a soph and Jr, so the bulldogs will be lacking a true pg as Huth, Ryder and lowe have been primarily on the wing for most of their career although both brought the ball up at times last year.

Wow just heard that the Bobcats have some injuries to start the season, whats in the water over there in Creston????..Harris had surgery on his shoulder, Dhrer(SP) still has bad shoulder, the big linemen, Weinman I think, has bad knee. Thats 3 key players out already. What does Norwayne have depth wise? Not a good way to start the season. Does anybody else have some inside knowledge on their roster?. I just catch bits and pieces when I stop at the local greasy spoon.

Man I am kind of in the dark on basketball in general this year. No clue on either boys or girls teams. I would imagine dalton will still be the team to beat for the boys and smithville for the girls? I did hear Norwayne is pretty banged up and could struggle especially early in the year.

The word I hear is that Harris will not play. Outside of that everyone else should be healthy by the time games get going. Dreher will be ok. We have Stoudmire, Davis and Prentiss returning. Weinman didnt play last year so him being there is a bonus anyway. It's actually sort of a shame that Harris will not be playing. If he's healthy I would say that Norwayne would have to be one of the favorites to win the league.

Season gets underway tonight. Bulldogs get a solid test out of the gate in a big tuslaw team.

Dalton over tuslaw 57-46. Bulldogs have a nice blend of shooters outside and big men that can score. They play very good defense as well. If I had to pick at something, their passing was a little suspect - too many skip passes. They also looked well coached for a rookie head man. They should contend once again. Tuslaw has nice size across the board and some kids that can shoot the three. They are not real fundamentally sound at this point.

for tuslaw being very long down low they miss alot shoots in the paint ! another thing i seen improvement is our foul shoots. if you take c clark's out we shoot very well at the line !

I guess Tre was given a varsity and JV uniform when they handed them out, and then quit because he thought he should only be playing varsity. I was kind of expecting him to be Dalton's starting point guard this year. Not sure what happened, but that obviously was not going to be the case. Hopefully, the Bulldogs continue their winning ways and Tre finds success and happiness playing for the Red Riders. That situation could create an interesting sidebar if/when those two teams meet in the tournament.

Did I misunderstand, I was told Tre went to Massillon??? One transferred to Wooster, one to McKinley and one to Massillon. Can anyone clear this up? Thanks
