Finally got another chance to watch the Bobcats, got there early enough to watch the second half of JV and then the Varsity. 2 very good teams that went head to head and a tale of two halves. Bulldogs played a very nice first half and Bobcats played a very nice second half. Will these 2 teams meet again in turny, not sure if Dalton is in same Div or not?? Both teams have quality players I think Norwayne just has more. And one qusetion for you Daltn fans, do you like your new coach? first half it just seemed that he had control of everything and then second half he did nothing but scream during timeouts, yell at refs(which I have to say both JV and Varsity Refs where God awful) I know that Coach West does the same thing and I know of a few Bobcat fans that dont care for him, but just wondered if this is the way Daltons coach always is. I think West had the Bobcats better prepared and focused on the second half mor then Dalton. I hope these two teams meet again in turny.
Norwayne has alot leaving after this year, but from the looks of their JV team that have quality players coming back should be exciting times for Norwayne Basketball!!!

Maybe the third time will be a charm...should be another great game.1486wd;1586491 wrote:Bobcats and Bulldogs meet again tonight. Both the first two were good games, especially the second one. Dalton did a better job against the pressure in game two as I think they had less than ten turnovers. They will need to be aggressive with loose balls as you know norwayne will be. Good to see Ryder coming on again for Dalton lately as he had been slumping a little. Norwayne would be your pick after the first two games, but at the same time it's always tough to beat a good team 3 times in a season. Should be high intensity.

That was a very physical game and I thought both teams got plenty of "no calls". We had too many turnovers and missed some open looks. Always sucks to lose a close one like that! Good luck in regionals Norwayne!
Keep the equipment room unlocked....you will be turning in your shit next week!

From a non-Norwayne and non-Orrville perspective, that game last night was not even a basketball game. Both sides should have hired the football coaches at half. It was a complete embarrassment to the OHSAA, because if that is considered tournament quality officiating than the OHSAA has some issues to solve. I don't think that the officiating was one sided, simply that Norwayne was more physical and better equipped to handle that play. Defensively Norwayne had moments on being terrible. Norwayne seemed to have concrete blocks on their feet in transition. How many transition buckets did Orrville have? I think that Summers is a good player, but again defensively they would lose him from time to time. Most of his buckets were open looks when players would get lost in the paint. Amazing to me when Sommers is Orrville's only consistent scorer and Norwayne could obviously play physical. Lastly, I find it funny how on the Orrville thread the talk for the past few weeks has been the disrespect that WCAL teams give Orrville. Well the disrespect is based on the lack of respect given. Old Rider and Riderwannabe yours last posts are classless. So you didn't win. Are you going to cry? Even if the challenge for Norwayne is steep, it shows no class to make such cooments. I hope you are proud of how you continue the tradition of Orrville ego and classlessness. I'm glad not all Orrville fans act like you. I know this because I was sitting on the Orrville side last night.

At no time should anyone accept losing. I dont and never will. I hate losing and I played one way...and if it meant fouling, cheating, fighting, etc. it didnt matter! Just win!Blackshirts;1587983 wrote:From a non-Norwayne and non-Orrville perspective, that game last night was not even a basketball game. Both sides should have hired the football coaches at half. Congrats on a nice season Norwayne. The most disappointing aspect of the game last night was once again the transition defense. Those are costly buckets and quite frankly back breakers. Anyway, nice season for the community.
