Harassment, not bullying. Incognito went above and beyond your typical bullying. I thought that would be understood by now.Manhattan Buckeye;1530609 wrote:No, but I do appreciate the irony of a thread that is sort of about bullying (when it is about football and two players that likely anyone wouldn't want on their favorite team)....when there are people here that have done exactly that.
Not that I really care about it.

Semantics?
""STFU MB. You're not funny. No one enjoys your posts. No one laughs at your posts. Everyone hates you. Just throw yourself in front of the next train that comes by in Bangkok or wherever the fuck you are that no one cares you are at and piss off." You deal with it.
In the workplace I certainly have had to deal with "bullying" behavior. I'm not saying it is right, but it happens and there are a channel of controls to go through.

I didn't say that. Incognito is a a psycho idiot with a history of being a jackass. But in the same breath, Martin is kind of a *****. You don't like the bullying? Beat the fuck out of him.vball10set;1530596 wrote:...and this is supposed to make what Incognito did okay? I guess in some circle's this may validate his actions, but imo, the guy's a psycho idiot, period.
Martin had better win a big lawsuit because when this is all said & done both he and Incognito are going to have a tough time finding work, imo.

You act like that quote is the same as someone directing racial slurs and threats at someone. It's not.Manhattan Buckeye;1530615 wrote:Semantics?

If he truly believed the threats in the voicemail, it would have made absolutely no sense for Martin to beat the fuck out of him. It would have given Incognito even more reason to go after his family.BR1986FB;1530621 wrote:I didn't say that. Incognito is a a psycho idiot with a history of being a jackass. this part of the story is kinda coming true with the backlash that martin is getting..Fab4Runner;1530602 wrote:http://www.brian23.com/richie-incognito-bad-person-end-of-story/
They become afraid that speaking out will make it worse, or that nobody will believe them, or that they’ll lose their job/status/reputation/friends/whatever by making waves. They’re made to believe there will be consequences and further horribleness if they say or do anything to stop it.

I agree it is different...but in either case is there really a threat? As big of a jerk that Incognito is - was Martin really threatened? I'm not particularly threatened by Sports and Lady's post...even though it was far worse than what Incognito said.Automatik;1530622 wrote:You act like that quote is the same as someone directing racial slurs and threats at someone. Incognito was being the "bully" because he knew that Martin would back down. If Martin shows Incognito who the "alpha" is, I don't see Incognito going after Martin's family for fear that he (Incognito) would get something worse.Fab4Runner;1530624 wrote:If he truly believed the threats in the voicemail, it would have made absolutely no sense for Martin to beat the fuck out of him. "Beat the **** out of him." I expected someone from Steubenville to think that would have been the solution.

How does Martin know that? All he knows is that he has been abused, harrassed and extorted by Incognito.

Obviously Martin thought there was a threat. He said he would kill him and also mentioned his family. It doesn't matter whether you think it's threatening or not. The person receiving the messages clearly did.Manhattan Buckeye;1530631 wrote:I agree it is different...but in either case is there really a threat? LOL
http://www.brian23.com/richie-incognito-bad-person-end-of-story/If you think Martin should’ve “kicked his ass” or “stood up and been a man”, I’d honestly recommend you stop watching football for awhile, because it’s chipping away at your humanity.

So if someone is threatening you, you're going to just let them have their way with you? You DEFEND yourself.september63;1530638 wrote:"Beat the **** out of him." I expected someone from Steubenville to think that would have been the solution.

It's called self preservation. Violence is always a last resort.BR1986FB;1530652 wrote:So if someone is threatening you, you're going to just let them have their way with you? You DEFEND yourself.

Do you work with or see any of the people on here on a daily basis? It's completely different. I don't defend the people on here who troll and bully everyone, but it is not the same as a real life situation.Manhattan Buckeye;1530651 wrote:and that is an eggshell, again:

No one should be advocating violence...but the more I read Martin didn't even go to his coaches.

There are reports that it was the coaches who asked Incognito to "toughen him up." If true, why would he ever feel comfortable going to them?Manhattan Buckeye;1530657 wrote:No one should be advocating violence...but the more I read Martin didn't even go to his coaches.

Not everyone is though. And "beating the fuck out of him" is a horrible way to go about it.
I couldn't disagree more with mike golic this morning on mike and mike when he was going back and forth with Dan lebatard. Lebatard was absolutely correct and golic was just trying to justify the "standing up for yourself" argument because he used to be an nfl player.

Not only this, but Incognito was on the team leadership council and/or a team captain and an established veteran in the NFL whereas Martin is barely a second year player.Fab4Runner;1530658 wrote:There are reports that it was the coaches who asked Incognito to "toughen him up." By "beat the fuck out of him" I wasn't implying that Martin be the aggressor. You initially try to talk it out with him and, assuming that doesn't work (not likely in Incognito's case) you "call" him on it and do what you've got to do. You defend yourself, family, etc. I'm not advocationg that Martin sneak attack him or something like that but for godsakes, stand up for yourself.

So don't beat the fuck out of him in a sneak attack. Bring it up to him and then when he doesn't back down, then beat the fuck out of him.BR1986FB;1530670 wrote:By "beat the fuck out of him" I wasn't implying that Martin be the aggressor.
