The point of the games, correct me if I'm wrong (I'm not), for 90% of the people who want to play them is to shoot people. COD provides that at such a better level it's pretty much not even a competition. What strategy is there when you have 2 dudes flying aimlessly around in jets, maybe one guy in a jeep driving in circles, 2 guys in tanks killing each other and then everyone else is camped out doing nothing. Great strategy. COD is a much more intense and fun game all around. Which is why it sells more, every time...and always will. Like I said, anyone I've ever known that liked Battlefield more than COD only did because if you watched them play COD they sucked at it.
I would say I'm a far better COD player than a BF player, but I strongly prefer BF.
I'll play COD when it's 11:30pm and I'm just getting in a quick game or two before bed...I'll play BF any other time because (in my opinion) the multiplayer is so much better.
One night I could be a medic and just follow people and drop health kits and focus on objectives, then the next night I can be a heli pilot or gunner in capture the flag, or I can just be a run and gun assault person, or a sniper (an actual sniper who finds a good tactical spot, not a 'quickscoper' like COD).
Again, it's just a preference thing, and I'll probably end up with both.
