Umm...jmog can decide who goes to his hell just as much as you can. But if I was going to live in a fantasy world, I would probably go try to bang some Disney princesses or something much less negative.

jmog just doesn't want to accept reality that the WBC and whatever shit he believes in have a lot of common. Both require delusional followers and pass judgement while at the same time claiming only jesus can pass judgement. Neither belief is logical either.

it seems only sleeper can pass judgement. Get off your soapbox, it's damn annoying. The constitution allows for religious freedom (or lack of it) without persecution. You would do well to follow that example.

Of course I can pass judgement. Religion is bullshit and deserves the criticism it gets no matter how "annoying" it is. It's state sponsored FRAUD and if we didn't have so many stupid people running around preaching this bullshit(strictly for money and power), then religious freedom would be stricken from the constitution. There is nothing good about religion, time for religious people to grow up.

Actually the word Hell was placed into the bible a long time after it was put together. The word Hell replaces other Jewish words like Gehenna. Which was a place where Jewish people used to burn garbabe and dead bodies. Other words that Hell replaced originally meant things like Grave, absence of God, cease to exist.

The idea of a fiery pit of eternal torture is something that shows up in the King James Version of the Bible. The punishment for not going to Heaven is basically just ceasing to exist, not going to a Hell where you are tortured by the Devil on a daily basis.

Lol...it is hard in a couple of lines to get to everything, but this highlights the point.

A few friends of mine were arguing the other day over which bible is "the right one." The King Jamesers standard line was that it stays "truer to the original word." Credibility all around.

Basically, the bible is the internet before the internet.

I think the biggest mistake is that people want there to be a god who fixes their human problems, but "he" can't exist without the most dreadful human qualities.

Secondly: He existed prior to our human problems.

Where would we ever come up with the notion of bad, wrong, right, good, etc. if not for some sort of standard being made known to us!

Lastly, you don't want to believe in God? Don't!!! After all, Kit Kats and Reece's Peanut Butter Cups are on sale at Kroger! I can buy MOUNDS of the candies at discount prices!!! I am not sure what is funny about the post. The truth is the idea of Hell was added later and the original terms used did not really mean fiery pit of eternal damnation and torture by demons/devil.

The funny part is that a large population believe it is the word of "god", but that it is no secret that it is the word of men. And if it doesn't fit one particular need, man either re-writes it or re-interprets it. Yet, so many people readily buy it as, you know, gospel.

You are right about religion being man made and full of mistakes and the good news for you would be that the original meanings were correct and that when you are dead you will just cease to exist which is what you already believe anyway.

Umm...human rights are quite real. I don't steal other people's shit, not because I am obeying some fictional god (or even human laws) but because it isn't my shit. The impact of our actions on others is a good general guide to right and wrong. For those who don't have that innate sense, or who don't care, I suppose religion is a good try. But for the majority of us, we stopped needing Santa Claus and fantasies to be good at about age 10.

Why do you keep saying spontaneous generation? Also, I was never the one who tried to pretend there is a book of absolutes. You want to use the book, but not for its intended purpose, just for whatever parts you like. So not sure what you are getting at on that one either.

But anyway, it has been fun but college football is on and god has to get busy helping some guys score touchdowns. According to Facebook, he has already helped some friends get money for some material goods. Apparently he doesn't care about cancer though. Jesus f***ing Christ, what a great dude!
