They still have so much work to do, but that was a much needed win even though they played like shit.

With the way we've been playing the last three weeks, I don't see how any win can be considered ugly--it was frickin' beautiful!!!

Exactly. Winning in Wisconsin is not easy at all. Only 4th time OSU has EVER won there. Take it and move on. Good to see Matta change up the lineup today. Although he said Scott came to him and wanted to come off the bench.vball10set;1575133 wrote:With the way we've been playing the last three weeks, I don't see how any win can be considered ugly--it was frickin' beautiful!!!

Trying a wide open layup?wildcats20;1575116 wrote:Lol. Why are you even trying that shit. Just back the ball out. Terrible decisions by Scott and Smith.

You back the ball out making them foul you and run a little clock. That was not a wide open layup. Clearly, as he missed it trying to get cute. It was a bad basketball play.bases_loaded;1575192 wrote:Trying a wide open layup?

I agree, though it should've been an easy layup. Scott and Smith miss more layups than any D1 basketball player should. Hell, Smith has missed how many dunks this year?wildcats20;1575194 wrote:You back the ball out making them foul you and run a little clock. That was not a wide open layup. I don't think they keep records of this (who knows, they might?), but if they did, he'd have to hold it.se-alum;1575195 wrote:Hell, Smith has missed how many dunks this year?

Definitely were some positives from the game even though there are still a lot of limitations. Scott seems better bring able to jump into the game than starting, and he seemed way more aggressive today than the past 6 games. He misses more tough layups than anyone I've seen but he adds more than he costs overall imo. Coming into today he had the highest +/- of any OSU player during the Big Ten season so obviously he isn't that bad.
This team just overall isn't as good as I thought they would be. When the defense is there they can hang with almost anyone but there is no margin for error.
I appreciate any player who plays for Ohio State, but I won't miss Lenzelle Smith at all. He adds nothing except a little bit of rebounding, but his shouting can be horrific.

Thank God for Della Valle and McDonald. Those two players gave Matta unexpected positive minutes. It is good to see a "Big"(McDonald) get down in a proper defensive stance when guarding on the perimeter. Maybe, Williams watched and learned.
As others have said there is no margin of error for this team.

Williams was actually game time decision yesterday. Matta said on post game that he is dealing with some calf issues the past few weeks. But yes, the bench was certainly the difference. That along with that overrated Craft making plays the last 4 min of the game.Prescott;1575276 wrote:Thank God for Della Valle and McDonald. Those two players gave Matta unexpected positive minutes. Williams plays defense like he is wearing a back brace that doesn't allow him to bend, get on the balls of his feet, and spread out.His rigid posture works OK on the blocks, but not when he is forced to the perimeter. It drives me crazy.
Obviously, Craft made the plays down the stretch that won the game. Hopefully, he will get some confidence back.
Can we make a bet on which player will miss the next layup?

I want a blow out win. OSU starts to miraculously find the bottom of the basket and just torches the zone Iowa threw at us last time.vball10set;1576219 wrote:Hopefully it'll be another ugly win.

Doesn't sound good at all. But reality is, could easily happen. And reality is, Iowa is actually pretty damn good this year. Damn home loss to them after having a 9pt lead still stings. I think OSU will compete and keep things close. Like most games recently, gonna come down to which team that can make plays the last 5 min of the game.Automatik;1576268 wrote:Agreed, just get a damn W. Swept by Iowa!? Just sounds terrible.

I absolutely hate that phrase. A person might as well say it's going to come down to whoever can score more. It's just a more abstract version of that.centralbucksfan;1576276 wrote:Doesn't sound good at all. But reality is, could easily happen. And reality is, Iowa is actually pretty damn good this year.
