If any spot on this team can overcome being out 6-8 it is the closers role
He pitched one inning in one ST game this year. I know he's been doing a lot of bullpen sessions. Looks like he's doing better...just not sure if he's ready to be the closer. I think it's going to have to be closer by committee for awhile on this team.

Reds should be able to be OK with that.
Good news is Latos looked good I guess yesterday, hitting 95 in a ML game.

Latos, Chapman, Broxton, Marshall, and Schumacher all will start season on DL. Hannahan and Mesoraco likely to join them. Gonna be a tough start to the season.

Could have been OK without chapman if Brox/Marshall wasnt hurt as well.

Meseraco will hurt as well.

Latos.....not exactly sure but they can go without a 5th starter a I think at least twice in the first month.

I said it when he got hurt....even though it wasnt serious shit like this tends to not be a good sign for the season. If you dont start healthy, it is harder than hell to be ready and stay healthy when the marathon season starts.

It's a brutal schedule to start the season, too. So this could be REALLY bad news.

Cueto will be the Opening Day starter. Followed by Cingrani and then Bailey.

Alfredo Simon will be the #5 starter for the start of the season. Price said that he expects Latos to be back after that, and he'll move Simon to the pen after 1 start.

If you want your blood pressure to rise go to the reds facebook page and read the idiotic comments. Ihave to stop ready them.

People bitching that Cueto is getting the start instead of Latos, or Bailey, or Cingrani, or even Leake, and even a mention of LeClure.

Probably the best way to start the season. I like Leake, but prefer power pitchers against the better teams like the Cards. This gives bailey an extra couple of days to get ready.

3 straight guys throwing over 90mph? Dusty is appalled and doesn't believe that can work.

I hope he keeps improving....I already stated my $100 million expectations, they are very reasonable IMO.

I fully trust Homer's stuff....I do not trust his head, but he came a ways last season.
se-alum;1582598 wrote:Those should be pretty easy for him to meet, if he stays healthy, with seasons just like he had last year. We'll see if he gets the opportunities for the playoff wins.
His first season is over with 9 wins, 3.71 ERA, 145 inn, 126 K

Some say that one run games are a reflection of the manager in how he, well, manages througout the game.
Many were giddy when Price talked about holding guys accountable (yet let Hoover on the squad long enough to go 1-10) and how he wouldnt be opposed to lefy lefty back to back, and wouldnt necessarily play that game of a pitcher having his own catcher yet has done that as well.

Now, he has had injuries, and probably is not 100% in charge of the roster but I also believe once he got into the managing mode some of the stuff he had hoped just didnt work out that way. Just not the season we all had hoped.
