I quit my last job because I was working every weekend for the most part. I worked for a non profit in SF and they pretty much felt like they owned me. I went over 2 months without a day off so I went into the finance/HR department and said I want to go hourly or I quit. Those checks were nice, but wasn't worth it. I found a new job and quit with 2 weeks notice, last I heard they were on the 2nd person to fill my position.

New office has been much better, but I worked last sat and I'm at the office now. I don't think this will be the norm though. 2 Saturdays since Feb aint too bad. Agreed it still sucks.

Not really work but I coach on several Saturday's during the fall. Work or not...I have to be there and I'm gone from 7:00-4:00. Did take this weekend off and went to the Marshall vs UTSA game.

I mean sometimes stuff comes up where I may have to answer an email (I did this morning), and theoretically if I ever get sent on the road for an extended trip it could go over the weekend (I usually get sent on day trips, or an overnighter in the middle of the week when it happens), but by and large not really.

In addition, we work 9's and take every other Friday off.

someone tell me why immature individuals, when faced with a argument or conflict the first thing that they think about is their penis. In stead of defending their character or providing a reasonable argument, their mentality is to grasp what they hold onto the most.

The sick mind takes the term as a perversion definition but there is a secondary definition

mofo, mf, or mf'er) is an American vulgarism. Its literal sense means one who fucks his or her mother, although this usage is seldom implied. Rather, it refers to a mean, despicable, or vicious person, or any particularly difficult or frustrating situation. Alternatively, it is used as a compliment, for instance in the jazz community. Due to the semiotics, it is less often applied personally to females, a personal direct object referred to as such is usually male.

Due to staffing issues, I've had to be at the bank the last 2 Saturdays. God this is horrible.

Anyone else work on Saturdays or Sundays?
As of right now I'm working 2 a month. The demand for the Honda Accord is really, really high right now. It sucks having to work 6am-2:30 but the time and a half is worth it.

Almost every weekend. Then again, I work in sports television so it kind of goes with the territory. You get paid to watch/cover sports which is awesome, but a lot of times you are covering a stupid ass game you dont care about when you could be watching your NFL/CFB/CBB team or whatever.

On the flip side, its a freelance business, so I really only work when I want. But no benefits sucks. I gotta get wife'd up for that reason alone lol

I work every other weekend in healthcare. And some holidays. And night shift. It sucks, but everyone in the field does it at one point or another. I'm finishing up my Bachelor's degree in April, hopefully I can find a dayshift, M-F desk job at that point.

What's the point of defending your character to a bunch of guys online who's interactions consist of bullshitting mostly about sports. No one gives a shit.

In the game of life, I am winning......and winning big time
No, pretending you are a high roller because you are a gym teacher is what is dumb LOL. Only in your delusional mind you are winning big time at life. When you talk about money, in the end it is all about the amount of $$$$ you bring in and lets be real here, as a gym teacher you aren't bringing in shit, especially considering that you have a family. There are plenty of millionares and billionares who have made a good living from working on the weekends. If you truly think working on the weekend is for poor people, you are an idiot. The fact you are a gym teacher just brings more lulz to that mentality.

Ccrunner is apparently forgetting he spends half of his Saturdays a year at cross country or track meets working and/or coaching. But that's not a job, I guess.

CC.....do you not consider coaching your team on Saturdays work? You get paid (a little) to do it and your school district requires you to be there.

On the $$$$ part, it is how much as long as you have ample time to enjoy life and do mostly whatever you want. My brother-in-law makes about $10,000 a year more than I do but works 7 days a week most of the time and ridiculous hours as well. He never has time for anything...and seems pretty miserable while he's at it.

It's still a job and there have had to have been some Saturday's you wish the meet was running better and you were doing something else. I get it as I have damn near the same responsibilities as you but sometimes it is definitely a job.

cc probably gets paid the most, has the best protection from being fired because of incompetence and least amount of actual stress/work for his career.

It's not all about the end $$ amount. Many people may make more $$$ but they work much harder, usually come across angry and bitter like that guy.

Show me a Millionaire or Billionaire who hasnt/doesnt work on the weekends. I would be stunned if there were any.

EDIT: Sounded like I was calling you out. I was just enforcing your point lol.
