Yeah.
Like I said, they arent loaded (like the Tigers, have you seen that lineup? Wow!). But as a team they are very, very deep. No stud power hitter, but 10 guys with double digit HR (and Aviles and Giambi, bench guys, with 9) and 7 guys with 50+ RBI. If you combine Reynolds and, say, Aviles who started to play when he left you have 8 guys. Thats a REALLY deep line-up where you never know which stretch of it will hurt you in a given day.
Now, it leads to some offensive slumps because really only Kipnis has been able to carry the offense by himself. But it also means no one has that kind of pressure on them.
Heck, because of the Goon Squad, I would say this is easily the deepest team we have had since the glory days of the 90s.
As for the pitching, we have 6 above average starters. 2 #1s (Ubaldo at the moment and Masterson all year), a stud #3. Kluber is well above average for a #4, Kazmir and McCallister well above average for a #5. Bullpen has only the closer spot to worry about (unless Masterson is there) because we have studs in the 6th, 7th and 8th in Shaw, Allen and Smith.
Damn, maybe Im just fired up today, but if we win tonight I like our chances to make a run. They will need some timely hitting, but thats what we have done all year!
