My second baseball game ever was Game 4 of the 97WS when I was six. The Indians were my first love, but I'm so mad I never really understood the magnitude of it at that age.

Gomes, and oddly, Chisenhall, kept getting on base, only to be left there by guys you'd expect to put good swings on balls in the clutch.
All those base runners...and nothing to show for it.SMH.

I feel a lot like this. ^^^^^

Really enjoyed the game and the crowd. Wish I would have been there. Probably would have gotten my ass kicked though haha.

I think the Indians are trending up for sure. Yan Gomes is a solid catcher and from a friend that met him a real stand up guy too. He makes the lineup easier by letting Swisher/Santana trade off between 1B/DH. Besides Ubaldo whom I saw referenced needing to be re-signed. Are there any other potential free agent losses? I wouldn't say Asdrubal or Perez would be a loss for the team.

Think Carlos Beltran would consider the Tribe again? He was close to signing two years ago, correct? I know he's not ideal to some fans because of age but he's still producing. The Rays have made a living off those types of signings to pair with their young core over the years.

The Beltran thing is interesting. It was pretty apparent two years ago he used us to leverage a better deal. Maybe he will change his tune 2 years later now that our FO has shown a commitment to winning and we have a legit manager. Hmm, who knows.

Lots of time to speculate on offseason issues.

This season was great. Some guys really emerged and took the step to the next level in my opinion. Especially Kipnis and Brantley. Raburn had to be the biggest surprise. Next to him it was Yan Gomes. What a great year out of him. He should be a key contributor for years to come. Imagine if Lou Marson doesn't get knocked out in a play at the plate vs Tampa. Do we even see Gomes? I don't know Aviles contract situation but I would like to see him back. Very reliable and versitile.

Hard to ask for more. 68 wins to 92 wins. Hosting a playoff game. Should have the AL Manager of the Year. Hopefully we can use this momentum and parlay it into a good offseason with ownership stepping up to plate and adding to this club and the fans responding and not waiting until September to show up.

All in all...one hell of season and something to build off of. What a ride.

Whether they won or lost, this game (playoffs) was something this city sorely needed.

agreed. The vibe downtown was amazing. This entire week has been fun to talk about and fun to listen/read on.

I got a tweet earlier from either the Indians or MLB(maybe the Indians RT the MLB) where it had the "Rules of the Postseason".

#1 was don't sit down!

A guy two rows behind me last night had the cops called on him because he wouldn't sit down....SMH

Everything was great last night until they stopped using the Circle K meter on the RF facade...next thing ya know, HR...followed by a 2 run inning.

Also fuck Adsrubfail.

If Cleveland spends the money and gets Kendrys Morales they could be pretty good next year. They need that really good bat that everyone else in the division has

I'm curious what some teams will do this offseason like the Rockies. If they go I to rebuild mode could Gonzalez be available? Or even Gomez from the brewers.or maybe even Ryan Howard. It will be an interesting off season

I would hope the Indians and MLB would not promote such idiocy. I'm not sure where the idea of you're "Not a true fan" if you don't stand the entire game came from, or that because you paid for a ticket that you have a right to obstruct everybodys behind you view of the action. Sports fans come in all ages, sizes and states of health....and they are not all testosterone raging alcohol laden 20 and 30 something year olds. Modern sports facilitites (Progressive Field is no exception) are constructed so that evryone has a good view from their seat....that kind of goes out the window when the 6' 2 " guy in the second row stands up in front of the 5' 4" woman and so she stands up...and stiil can't see..and everyone else behnd has to stand, and well, ..if you small, infirm or a child you don't see anything. No true sports fan would object to people standing and cheering at appropriate times.....ehhhh but when there is one out in the third and no body is on......not so much. It boils down to consideration for other people....and that is so lacking nowadays.

I don't think you're not a true fan if you sit. I do think the best home-field advantage comes if everyone is on their feet. In certain situations, it is called for.

Doesn't matter if they got Mike Trout and Babe Ruth of 1927...they would still have Detroit in the division. I mean, have you seen that lineup?...wow!!

Exactly....just not the whole game.
