If the Tigers were dominant they would have won 100+ games, and the reason they don't mainly is lack of speed and defense. Peralta is a below average LF, Miggy can't move, Omar has no range and Prince is well Prince. Hunter and Jackson are good but that's it and is a main concern since that is what usually wins tight games. However the pitching staff is pretty damn good
Thats fine. But that current lineup is 1-2, was shutout for 9 then 8/9 innings until yesterday when the cheater turned the season around. What are their playoff averages if we are going to go the route of who is playing now.
and I'm also not sure they have the best pitching. I easily take dodgers 1-2 over max and jv. 3/4 is probably Detroit, but who gives a shit in playoffs.
Boston though easily has the best lineup. Has all year. Scored the most, slugged the most, did everything and their pitching to go along with it is very good.
my issue with Detroit is the holes in their lineup and the fact so many of their players can be pitched to. Cabrera and victor are really the only two who can hit good pitching. Maybe prince. The best lineups are deeper and not so easily shutdown. The tigers remind me of the 2000s Yankee teams when they would get shut down in the playoffs by good pitching. We will see I guess.
