I do too. But, I also think you gotta have some balls (like Leyland last year) and make the call even if its not standard. We cant be losing games down the stretch because of him and his mental fragility.
The other thing is, however, who do you put there? Joe Smith? He has been awesome, along with Allen, for most of the year. But he looked shaky when he was the closer for the couple games early this year and you dont necessarily want to take him out of his 8th inning role. Because that is sometimes even more pressure packed. Allen is getting a tired arm as the season ends, and, you wouldnt put a kid that young into a situation like this.
Shaw has been awesome, and is even stronger now than ever this season...but again, dont want to put the guy in a situation where he CANNOT fail or its no post-season. Just not fair to those 2 guys.
