MLB Network just showed the Hammy call in their highlights. I assume they will all night, if you are watching the station.

Will he really still be the closer?
I have no faith, none, in him.
Weakest part of the team easily.

Titos exact response was:
"Oh yeah. We arent gonna change things with 4 games left.......5 games left? However many we have."

I get his theory....but this is a glaring problem. But as you said before, Perez usually looks good after he chokes one away

At this time of year, I agree.

It's ride or die. Perez is our closer and we have to deal with it. Would be different if Pestano had his head out of his ass this year and gave Tito an option.

I do too. But, I also think you gotta have some balls (like Leyland last year) and make the call even if its not standard. We cant be losing games down the stretch because of him and his mental fragility.

The other thing is, however, who do you put there? Joe Smith? He has been awesome, along with Allen, for most of the year. But he looked shaky when he was the closer for the couple games early this year and you dont necessarily want to take him out of his 8th inning role. Because that is sometimes even more pressure packed. Allen is getting a tired arm as the season ends, and, you wouldnt put a kid that young into a situation like this.

Shaw has been awesome, and is even stronger now than ever this season...but again, dont want to put the guy in a situation where he CANNOT fail or its no post-season. Just not fair to those 2 guys.

Easiest thing to do is to win the remaining 5 games by 10 runs a game....problem solved

You prob think I'm nuts but if you'e watched closely, Carrasco has been absolutely unhittable in his relief outings. He is throwing a 2 seemer that drops off the table. I know it makes no sense, but he is night and day as a reliever.

It is too late in the season to expirament, but I would use him to close games.

Not at all. I think CC has been amazing in the pen. Im just not sure he is a guy I want to throw to the fire at this point either. Im not against it, maybe say, next year. Have CC and Allen go at it to see who wins out (but Im not sure the Tribe doesnt view CC as a possible starter still, especially if they cant sign everyone back).

As much as it sucks, Im not sure Tito has many options.

Carrasco has been amazing since his recall though.

Perez most likely won't be back next year(and Smith is a FA too).....Allen and Carrasco probably will be the back end of the pen in 2014. I would not change things at this point. Carrasco is unproven in the role, and Allen just hasn't been lights out lately either.

Chris Perez will break our hearts. If he wasn't so young, with his stuff, I'd almost prefer experimenting with Salazar as the closer. Perez is going to pull a Jose Mesa I just know it.

That was absolutely insane. By far the best game I went to all season. The attendance was pathetic (per usual), but the crowd that was there was very, very into it the whole game. A lot of cheering (and booing) and everyone went crazy after the walk-off. My voice is feeling it today, and my brother was yelling so much that he got dizzy, haha.

I hope this doesn't bite them in the ass. This is the first glittering yahoo since the Tigers series, I believe. I've been sure not to post them on our win streak.

BUT, who gives a shit, just keep winning baby! GO TRIBE!

I thought I had put the hex on them by buying tickets to ALDS game 4 just prior to gametime. If they can battle through that jinx...it could be destiny.
