Mice be gone</SPAN>

With little over 1.5 acres, woods on one side and lots of foliage around the house every year when the weather get cooler we get field mice. This has been the trend for the past 30 plus years. </SPAN>
We tried an outside cat, we think the Red Tail Hawk end that idea. Few years ago we had a garden snake in the flower beds and that really cut back on the mice… need to get a new snake .. </SPAN>
We set traps in the garage, basement and sometimes sunroom. Belly Theory is 12 dead mice two winter blizzards and one ice storm prediction. Note: In the past 5 days six trap set…four dead </SPAN>
This is not a good sign ..mofo</SPAN>

Any other home owners have this problem …? </SPAN>

Over the years we had Chip Monks run into the house, one squirrel, two birds the kids and wife freaked out … very funny. But Hey! That what happens when you leave the door and windows open … and don’t lower the screens </SPAN>

Mice usually dont get to many mice till all the crops are gone. Its like a free for all after that. Set traps and throw poison out and usually that does the trick. As of right now have no signs of mice. Living in an old farm house dont help things out. You think you have everything sealed up and them little bastards still find a way in.

Also, do not go the poison route in your house.

I learned this the hard way, with a mouse dying in the drip pan under fridge, right in front of fan. STUNK.

At least you found it. I have had 3 rats find their way in my row house in DC, smh. 1 I was able to trap in my trash bin, the other took poison and died under the sink dashboard. Made the kitchen smell pretty badly. The last one I had no idea about ate some poison at some point, and died within my fucking walls. Soooo, I found out I had another rat when I could smell it all over the house rotting. Since it was in the wall, I had to pretty much just wait about 6-7 weeks for the rat to dry out and the smell to go away smh. This was during the winter. When it got warm, I guess there was still rat remaining as I had flies all over my house. I probably killed about 100 flies. That lasted about 10 days.

Luckily the guy who lives next to me was rennovating his house, which led to these fucking scumbags in my house. No more construction is being done, and the landlord filled each potential entrance with copper. Haven't seen or smelled a rat since then, knock on wood.

Anyway tl;dr don't use poison to kill pests.

You can buy poison now that will kill mice/rats and there will be no smell it dries them up i think is how it works. I have been using it the last three years. I did not believe it until I used it. I think its call just one bite.

Had mice that would roam on my counter at my house. No damn clue on how they could get on it but they did. Had a loaf of bread out that was wrapped up and came out one morning and a corner was ripped open and part of the bread was eaten. Sat a trap up and got one, then figured I would see if there were 2 so did it again and got another. Left some peanut butter out for 2 nights later and wasnt eaten so figure I'm good for now.

Used a live trap catcher to get them since it was on my counter and that thing worked perfect. One was freaking terrified and wouldn't move when I let it out. The other I opened at head height and it left the trap so quick it flew about 10 feet in the air then hit the ground and took off. Those things are quick as hell.

A Ferret will cure any mice issues you may have.


Then again, sometimes a few mice running around is preferable to having a ferret running around. I personally find ferrets to be insufferable little bastards with bad attitudes and incredibly foul smelling dung.

but they will flat out open a can whipazz on rodents of any kind...and cats, and small dogs, and your achilles tendon (if you're unlucky)

Garder snake, not Garden snake.

But yeah, poison inside is bad. The stuff now that kills them like a day later but makes them thirsty as hell is good. They go outside to find water and die in like 24 hrs out there. Just make sure you dont have a bowl of water or something laying around or they will find that first.

when I lived in a slumlord apartment at OSU, we had a mouse or two and caught them with one of these traps and some peanut butter. Basically pop the end off, put peanut butter on it and then set the trap how it's shown in the picture. Mouse goes in, the trap tips over, the door closes and he's stuck until you let him out. In my case, I let him out on our balcony because I wanted to look at him, and he jumped out of the trashcan I dumped him into and then fell 40 feet to his presumed death.


I don't have mice anymore though because I'm a 1%er and don't put up with pests.

I suggest a shotgun no bigger than 16 ga. An Ar15 and a 9 mm Glock for back up.
