Up to that pitch, the last two nights, Carpenter had the only 2 Cards hits last night and 3 of the 8 so far tonight, plus a walk. Then after that pitch Hoover zoomed two fastballs by him to K him.

Hoovers velocity down 3mph this inning all the sudden. And can't control it either.

When did the team pick up Miguel Robinson?

Nice fail yahoo. They even call him Derrick under his player notes.

I saw that the other day. Strange, because he's been listed on the roster since May...

This is how Hoover gave up the grand slam last series, by not going inside. Molina's mindset was just going the other way, and Hoover didn't come inside once.

Hoover isn't going to get out of this. Just a sinking feeling...

I just now realized corky was catching. Why him over meso? Just to save him for a full game tomorrow?

You can use Meso as a pinch hitter only instead of having to double switch or make him catch. The move actually makes sense if you have 3 catchers.

There haven't been very many quality at-bats since the starters departed...
That's why, after BP's lead taking HR, it was so disappointing to see the Carpenter/Beltran run in the 6th. Cards figure to take this game(due to their advantage in all the players on the roster now above the 25th man) even though the Reds have the key home field strategic advantage.

Yes, Corky needs some work and is better than Meso at handling pitchers.

I'd put the odds of us winning this game at 5%

Welcome to a Bronson Arroyo start. He gave up a double, and after that, it's really hard for him to keep runners from advancing along. Obviously a hit got it done in that situation, but still.

If the Reds lose, it will point straight back to the two "easy RBIs" they didn't pick up in the 1st inning after the slight chink in the Cards defense. If they win and bemoan the bull-pen being spent, blame the first inning!

Would you guys use Hamilton to lead off the 12th?

Hell, if ANYONE can fucking get on base, I'd let him try to steal 2nd and 3rd...

Thom makes a good point. We're heading to the 13th and 2 of your top 6 hitters are sitting on the bench.

No, that would be wasting him because he is not very good at getting to first base. Save him to pinch run!, But not for Choo with 2 outs!
