Up to that pitch, the last two nights, Carpenter had the only 2 Cards hits last night and 3 of the 8 so far tonight, plus a walk. This is how Hoover gave up the grand slam last series, by not going inside. Molina's mindset was just going the other way, and Hoover didn't come inside once.

That's why, after BP's lead taking HR, it was so disappointing to see the Carpenter/Beltran run in the 6th. Cards figure to take this game(due to their advantage in all the players on the roster now above the 25th man) even though the Reds have the key home field strategic advantage.Azubuike24;1495638 wrote:This now becomes a huge game. Welcome to a Bronson Arroyo start. He gave up a double, and after that, it's really hard for him to keep runners from advancing along. If the Reds lose, it will point straight back to the two "easy RBIs" they didn't pick up in the 1st inning after the slight chink in the Cards defense. If they win and bemoan the bull-pen being spent, blame the first inning!
