According to a just released 60 Minutes / Vanity Fair Poll more Americans said they would be willing to die for their religion than for their country. While 55% were willing to die for their children, 10% would choose to go for religion and only 5% for their country.

I would not die for my religion since I do not have one. I would die for my country but not "my" government.

What is so bad about dying for one's religion? Also 5% willing to die for their country is pretty low

Mythical in your opinion. No, just because you believe something to be true beyond doubt, does not make it so.
It is necessary to be around people of different beliefs than you. If you are only around people that believe the same things you believe in, and there is nothing to challenge your beliefs, you will not grow as an individual.

You guys are looking at this from your safe suburban white bread perspective...lots of Americans don't have a clue where their kids are let alone die for them.
