Apparently fast food workers are striking across the country in an attempt to raise their minimum wage to......15 FUCKING DOLLARS PER HOUR. This has got to be the dumbest thing ive ever heard.

What do you expect when the "leaders" of our country push an entitlement mentality?

The dumbest thing I've ever heard is the idiots who think people not buying gas on a certain day will cause prices to drop because the gas companies will panic.

This is up there though.

Truth, meals would double in price with their wages. There'd be less fast food restaurants to work at. How about developing a skill worth more than minimum wage?

Shaniqua Davis, 20, lives in New York City with her boyfriend, who is unemployed, and their 1-year-old daughter. Davis works at a McDonald's, earning $7.25 an hour.

I'm just now hearing and reading about this. WTH!?!?!

Why wouldn't this one thing happen.

Managers fire the folks making the $7.25 and bring in a new crop of people who ARE willing to work for the $7.25???

If one is unwilling to work for a company at a certain wage, a) don't work there, or b) work hard enough and good enough to warrant a raise/promotion.

Or does that kind of reasoning not work anymore?

EDIT: If ANY of these employees buy cigarettes, purchase alcohol, have a cell phone - with monthly plan, or cable TV, they should be forced to walk on their hands while stating, "Look at me. I have to pee."

That reasoning seems to be going away. The fact they are on strike over wages is funny enough. Fire them and hire ones that will work. With unemployment as it is, shouldn't be that hard to find order takers.

These people want to make a living while working for fast food restaurants. You want to support your 3 kids? Learn a trade.

The numbers don't work for a viable business in that industry at anywhere close to that wage level. Unless we are willing to pay at least 20%-25% higher prices with no decrease in transaction counts.

The whole concept is silly anyway. An effort to increase egg production by strangling the chicken.

There's 28 million small buisness owners in US who have risked their capital to start a buisness. Should they be guaranteed a living wage?

Fast food workers striking would improve the quality of life in this country, since it'd cut down on the shit that people pump into their systems on a regular basis.

So I applaud this and hope that things never get resolved.

"They work harder than the billionaires in this city," he said.
Yeah, I bet they became billionaires by working less than fast food workers.

Haha I was wondering today when I stopped at McD's to get breakfast the dude who took my order actually sounded intelligent. Get up there to pay and he's in a shirt and tie and I thought damn a bunch of people must have called off. Then went to the next window to get my food and they had a flier that the were doing walk in interviews one day next week to hire people on the spot haha. Guess this explains it.

15 dollars is fucking ridiculious though. I agree with pretty much everything else that had been said though.

They don't expect to get it to 15 bucks. I know right now many places are short on work due to school back in session so you will see more adults and management
