I recently sold one of my cars to a recent high school graduate (last year)who doesn't have much but works 30+ hours a week and commutes to college. I sold her the car but let her avoid going through the bank for a loan. She's paying every month at 0% interest and likely would've had at least a 5% loan.
I helped her a little and by not selling through full payment kept me from paying off my daughter's car by next month......will be February instead.
Not a lot but a little.

I gave my car to a recent graduate for free. she works 40+ hour weeks and commutes twice as long to 2 colleges...and has even less than the girl you know.
She's even uglier than the girl you know too.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Fab4Runner again.Fab4Runner;1490338 wrote:I will be volunteering at a pet shelter starting in September.

Thanks! I actually got the idea from Justin. His wife is always posting pics of the dogs that they foster. I can't do that, but still wanted to help out in some way.BR1986FB;1490339 wrote:You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Fab4Runner again.

My girlfriends daughter wanted to volunteer but we kind of steered her away from it. We would've loved her to do it but didn't think she could deal with the "unhappy" side (euthanizations, abused animals, etc) of the business. Kudos to you !Fab4Runner;1490344 wrote:Thanks! I've been doing Atleast one random act of kindness a months for about the last 6 months now. Last night while at Eddie George ps Grille going over information for our rehersal dinner I paid for the dinner of a couple college students sitting nearby.

I actually work with a woman who says her and her husband don't go to bed at night unless they can name at least 10 people whose lives they've touched that day.

Our current foster moves to her forever home tomorrow morning. This foster dog has lead to a total of three dogs from our rescue organization being adopted. Reps on the volunteer work.Fab4Runner;1490344 wrote:Thanks! I actually got the idea from Justin. His wife is always posting pics of the dogs that they foster. Indeed. WTF happens if they can't name 10? I'll go days at a time without interacting with 10 people.TedSheckler;1490391 wrote:^^^That's gross.

Jerry Sandusky had a similar motto...he didn't go to bed without touching at least 10 that day.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1490383 wrote:I actually work with a woman who says her and her husband don't go to bed at night unless they can name at least 10 people whose lives they've touched that day.

I volunteer pretty regularly at a children's hospital. Usually it's just playing games with the kids. Madden and ping-pong with the older ones, Candyland and blocks with the younger ones. I enjoy it.

I intervened and saved a swan on my morning run from getting its butt kicked if not killed. I saw two swans engaged in physical activity which at first I thought was mating, then got closer and realized it was two males fighting. Or rather one male biting the crap out of the other one. A few rocks thrown and they broke it off with the weaker one swimming away.
Swans really are jerks. So are geese. Go Nature!
