Seeing some polls with them #1. I know it's completely irrelevant, but is OSU the best team in the country coming into the season?

Also, since this is my thread...feel free to debate Pryor and Robinson's throwing ability, talent, etc. on here.

No.

They should run the table though...but until they beat an sec team...I would never list them number one

Beat an SEC team this year or recently? Becuase they did beat Arkansas recently.

No, and I even think #2 is too high. Top 5 yes, but somewhere between 3 and 5.

Yeah...I am talking more about a national championship game. I hate the sec but at this point they should have a team with the automatic number 1. Last year was ridiculous....Notre dame didn't even belong on the same field

I'm not sure they even belong in the top 5. But they should be undefeated at least heading into Michigan.

Didn't mean polls. Meant analysis' personal rankings. I was watching the CBS preseason show earlier and a couple guys had them #1

The first poll should be around October 15. But seeing that this isn't the reality, I'd put Alabama first. The reigning champ should remain until they're beaten.

That line of reasoning makes sense if the reigning champ is defeated. Texas A&M is undefeated since they beat Alabama so using the until beaten logic you could say they are better.

But I don't think OSU should be #1 either. Like others, it'd be better to wait a few weeks into the season before trying to rank teams.

They should not be ranked #1 now.

I'm curious, let's say OSU runs the table and there are several 1 loss SEC teams at the end of the year. Does anyone think they should be ranked #1 then?

No, I don't think they should be ranked ahead of a 1 loss SEC team even if they go undefeated. With that schedule, they better go 12-0. They don't play anyone.
