Have you recently heard someone say something they believe in and you just want to tell them that it's not the 40's anymore?
I can't believe people still maintain a marriage is between a man and a woman.
I can't believe that people still believe smoking marijuana should be criminalized.

The 40's or the 60's?
I think there is enough misinformation from the latter that is just as incredibly stupefying as the former, yet has still resulted in many studies and careers for people.
The one off-hand is wage disparity between genders.

Can't believe 18 year olds can die for their country, in the name of honor...But they can't have a fucking beer.

Marriage is biblical, so I believe a traditional "marriage" should be between a man/woman. In terms of benefits, I think gay couples who "join" in commitment to one another, should be given the same opportunity as everyone else, to receive benefits of their partner.

Marriage predates the bible. Civilizations practiced the union of marriage long before the Bible was written. The idea God would actually be this concerned with who someone chooses to love and be in a committed relationship with doesn't make sense to me.ernest_t_bass;1485265 wrote:Marriage is biblical, so I believe a traditional "marriage" should be between a man/woman. Churches shouldn't be forced to marry them, I will say that much.

To the point above, it really is ridiculous that the consumption age in the US is 21. I'm not aware of any other developed country that has that restriction.

I will also say that I would question any "christian" church that would marry them, as that goes against their very core (the Bible).Mohican00;1485276 wrote:that's fair

they also all have the minimum driving age at 18 and have stricters rules. with kids being as smart as they are these days (or so they say), why cant 16 year olds drive in 95% of the rest of the world.

I would not be opposed to an 18 yo driving age, with perhaps a permit license which allows you to drive with your parent at the age of 16. Kids need 2 years of practice with their parents, and they'd make perfect DD's.Glory Days;1485284 wrote:Apples and oranges. ie different cultures.

Agrarian society rules, IMO. That, and there isn't a real public transportation option for 95%+ of the US population.Glory Days;1485284 wrote:Apples and oranges. ie different cultures.

Also, what makes an opinion wrong because its old? Do we assume we only evolve in a positive way?
