Pretty crazy stuff. Amazing that the government is holding back such a useful medicine because of their pride/egos.

I know the plant has healing properties but those should be understood and respected or else it will cause you harm.
The same goes for all medicinal plants.

I don't smoke, but it's ridiculous that marijuana is illegal.

Thanks for sharing that article.

I watched a show that interviewed the guy making the medicine and he said he could face basically life behind bats because it was a child he was helping.

Weed/alcohol/drugs serve as an escapism and a (seemingly) easy way to self medicate.
Every single person that I have met that uses alot of weed has deeply rooted tension issues and for them it is a temporary relief.
The problem is that it is never a cure to anything and soon they need more and more of the drug because the tension never gets a permanent release.

It becomes a vicious cycle.

Then there are some that think they can use it as a short cut to spiritual experiences...

Like someone wiser than me said:
"Short cuts only cut you short"

I understand why so many people use weed these days but to me there is nothing positive about it only an indication that something is wrong (out of balance).

Peace.

Remember the time someone overdosed on hydrocodone? Happens all the time.

Remember the time someone overdosed on marijuana? Me either.

yeah but hydrocodone should be legal because alcohol is legal and alcohol withdrawal kills people

Great in moderation. But, those guys smoking weed that the movie Alpha Dog was based on seemed to have their wits about them.

It's the wrong use of it I don't agree with (i.e getting "high").
All of the positive attributes you listed can easily be achieved without the use of marijuana and its side effects (depending on how it is used).

If ones third eye is closed it is probably for a good reason.
I am of the simple opinion that spiritual energy shouldn't be tampered with but developed through hard labor and with a clear consciousness, preferably with proper guidance.

I saw this story on CNN and found it very compelling. I personally don't see why marijuana - a plant you can grow in your back yard - is illegal. It is nowhere near as socially dangerous as alcohol. I don't use it, but I have zero problem with people that do. As long as it's not bothering me, to each his own.

As long as they make it illegal to do it while driving I couldn't care less. Just get annoyed as hell by people who say things like "I drive better when im high/drunk hurr durrr"

You can grow opium in your backyard too. Should heroin be legal?

Don't know that's an accurate comparison, as isn't heroin a synthetic by-product of opium, as opposed to something you naturally can grab off the plant?

Now, I wouldn't mind smoking some opium...been a long time since I've had that opportunity.

Well, if you don't know, not sure who would.
