I agree with S&L here. "I trusted the process..."- of course he did, he was at a football school in a "football town"...I hope he didn't forget to thank Detective Angulo too!

Any SEC team with 5 losses or fewer is automatic Top 25. 4 or few Top 15. 3 or few Top 10. 2 or few Top 5. See how that works?

I will give the SEC East credit for being a bit better than whatever half of the ACC that Duke won, so it's not the worst half-conference out there in sports.

Georgia isn't a top 15 team. In CFB, they are a top 15 program. So is South Carolina.

UF has always owned UK and Vandy, they dominated UT in the 2000's and had their way with UGA in the 2000's. They basically cleaned up on the East opponents under Meyer and their season usually came down to one of the key games in the West or the SEC championship.

That has changed now.

Because Florida is weaker.

No doubt. Which was my whole point. It's gonna be a lot tougher for them to get back to where they were. Especially with this style they play.

Who cares if UGA is a top 15 program all-time? What does that have to do with the SEC East right now and in the next few years?

All-time? It's close. UGA is a top 15 program RIGHT NOW.

They haven't had a recruiting class lower than 13th since 2002.

End of season rankings since 2002 (AP poll, until it was taken out, then BCS)

2002 - 3rd
2003 - 7th
2004 - 7th
2005 - 10th
2006 - 23rd
2007 - 2nd
2008 - 13th
2009 - N/a
2010 - N/a
2011 - 19th
2012 - 5th
2013 - 23rd

I'd say that's a current top 15 program?

You have to drop every SEC team 5 spots in order to get a true ranking. They are definitely not a top 15 program. Hell, Indiana would be a top 15 program if it got to play SEC East teams.

Average ranking over those 12 years, 9.33. Subtract 5, you have 14.33. STILL top 15.

I guess the other way...name 15 programs better with numbers over the same stretch to back it up?

South Carolina has been pretty good lately, Georgia is always pretty solid, and Mizzou and Vandy are certainly on an uptick but it's not the same without Florida and Tennessee just running the show.

I will say that's what's absolutely killing the B1G right now, Penn State-Nebraska-Michigan are not good at all and no one is filling in for them like we see in the SEC. If those programs could return to where they were say 15 years ago, this conference would be the absolute best in the country

Since they are in the SEC east you were supposed to add 30 not 5.

Not good at all? I'd say they are good but obviously not what they once were.

Penn State would probably be there had the Sandusky affair not occurred. Nebraska and Michigan should be there now but these teams are in desperate need of Meyer-level coaching.

Georgia is 12th all time in FCS win percentage. Very good in the 70's & 80's. Sucked in the 90's. I'd say they are both now and historically rated in the 10-15 range.

Screw these rankings. Almost every year, Georgia gets the benefit/love of lofty preseason hype. And they traditionally are pretty much a disappointment. A traditional 3+ loss team when its all said and done except for a couple years.

Well, there has to be an arbitrary number added in for the outside the top 25 finishes. I guess discounting the years out of the top 25, that would be the ranking. If you threw in say "30" for those years, you're probably looking at an average still in the top 15.

I don't disagree with you on this.

I mean how many programs have 6 top 10 finishes in 12 years

My only counter was if you include on-field results and recruiting, name 15 programs better?

Georgia is probably a top 16 program.
