I never put much stock in pre-season polls. IMHO, polls probably shouldn't come out until after the first couple of games have been played.

I don't like them either.
No surprises really.
But, it does mean college football is close...

All that matters is #1 and #2 are correct and I have a feeling they won't be moving until the final game of the season.

Only thing I like about pre-season polls is we get some actual football discussion instead of more news about Johnny's drinking habit from various sports websites.

It does generate some discussion and anticipation for the upcoming season, and gives the casual fan an idea of who is expected to be the top teams. Other than that, pretty much worthless.

No way does OSU get jumped if they run the table. You can't have a BCS school go undefeated two years in a row and not get a shot at the National Championship the second year.

They would get jumped unless OSU has some of the presumed easy games turn out to be tougher (ie, wisconsin/msu/uofm/whoever has great years).

If they go undefeated, they will not get jumped. Period.

Agreed, OSU will not get jumped if they go undefeated.

I completely disagree just because OSU went undefeated last year as well. I am generally not one to use the year before argument as there is such a high turnover because of graduation and kids leaving early. But no way do I see one of the best programs all time, which is also a school in a BCS conference go undefeated in back to back years and not get in the championship game the second year. That would truly be a ridiculous situation.

But, I also think we are getting ahead of ourselves. Going undefeated is no easy task. I just can't wait till the season starts!

Personally I don't think anyone in the SEC goes undefeated and it will be Ohio State vs Oregon/Stanford winner.

But if a SEC team does go undefeated and Ohio State plus Oregon/Stanford it will be hard for the Buckeyes to hold them off.

I don't think an SEC team gets shut out of the national championship game unless all the top teams have 2 losses.
