For Sports Players & Fans - You are not racist when you know it will make you look bad, but are as long as it's acceptable. EXAMPLE: We would never tolerate racial comments about African Americans or sometimes even White people. However, you will sign a $10 million dollar contract to play for the "Redskins" - If the "Redskins" changed their names to "Black Panthers" you would probably have an issue.

As long as it's Native American - you CAN be racist, and being racist against a race that doesn't care, makes it magically OK and you can think to yourself that you are GOOD and have risen above it.

And before you say "Indians don't care about Redksins" - OKAY most wouldn't, but that doesn't make it less racist in itself.

Just 1 example. Basically you are sheeply non-racist when you realize it's going to look bad on yourself, but if the majority of people don't call you a racist for being racist against SOME races, then you aren't really who you think you are...just when it makes you look bad.

Two things...

#1) Concerning "Redskins" - I just had to write a paper for a Sociology class concerning this very thing. In my research I found out that at least one high school on an Indian Reservation goes with the mascot of... wait for it... you guessed it - the Redskins!

#2) Can we expect a thread entitled "Obesity is for stupid people" anytime soon???
