So...I love the way these guys are playing but I still think they are going to need a front line starter if they are going to be a serious contender. This was discussed on the radio yesterday and a few names thrown aroud were Yovani Gallardo (Brewers), Matt Garza (Cubs), Jeff Samardzija (Cubs) and Chris Sale (White Sox). Sale would probably be a pipe dream due to the fact he's within the division but they'd have control of him until 2019 which would be sweet.
My question is, if there's a front line "ace" type starter available and the front office thinks they're close, do you package Lindor as part of a trade if you have to?

No. I wouldn't give up Lindor for anybody besides a fringe all star type player. He's going to be a monster. I would give up some lesser prospects, though.BR1986FB;1467289 wrote: My question is, if there's a front line "ace" type starter available and the front office thinks they're close, do you package Lindor as part of a trade if you have to?

In a HEARTBEAT I give up Lindor for a front line starter. Matt Laporta, Jaret Wright, Drew Pomerantz, etc, etc...all "can't miss studs" that never panned out. Those saying "don't trade Lindor" are relying on "what COULD be." The guy is at A ball and has done nothing. Give me an ace starter that we have under control for multiple years versus a "wishing & hoping" prospect.

Lol. You are never getting an Ace with multiple years left. The most you will get is 1.5 out of them.
Why is Sale even being discussed?? Like the white sox think they are gonna suck for the next 7 years? They aren't trading him until his contract is expiring...

None of those guys had the potential lindor has. If you can get an "Ace" for him, then you trade him. But nobody is giving up an Ace for one prospect. I don't want a Gallardo (of this year) type for him. He's going to be a boss.BR1986FB;1467310 wrote:In a HEARTBEAT I give up Lindor for a front line starter. lol...This team is terrible. The pitching sucks and the bats have gone silent.ohiobucks1;1467304 wrote:exactly. Even though I question your allegiance in this series :OOOOO
And Lindor is as close to a can't miss guy as they've had for the past 20 years. He has superstar all over him. Pomeranz and the rest aren't even close to his potential. BTW...he's at high A and pretty much killing it there. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in Columbus by the end of the year.

BTW, count me out on trading Lindor. Dolan and Co would end up getting fleeced in the deal like they have in almost ALL of their trades.
