The Tribe has a much needed day off today and travels to KC to take on the Royals in a 3 game stint starting tomorrow.
Drew Stubbs will be pencilled in the leadoff spot, as Michael Bourn is on paternity leave and won't return until Wednesday.
Stubbs, who led off yesterday, was credited by manager Terry Francona as jump starting the offense with a bunt single against ChiSox hurler, Chris Sale, who was perfect the first 3 innings. Stubbs also doubled home a run later.:thumbup:
Despite the Indians 4 1/2 game lead over KC in the standings, a lot of sports pundits still think that the Royals will be the team to challenge the Tigers.:thumbdown:
Corey Kluber(6-5, 4.16) will pitch the opener against the Royal's Mendoza(2-4, 4.16).
Scott Kazmir is getting an extra day's rest precautionary from back spasms in his last outing.

I really hope we play well in KC the next three because I have tickets to Friday and Saturday's games against the Tigers. I think we may even miss Verlander this time.

I'm worried about a serious letdown. We just swept a division rival, took over first place, and have the 'big' series against the Kitties coming home. It might be easy to 'relax' against the Royals.
