Run a wire off your dishwashers coil about 4 inches in the air with some peanut butter on it behind the counter and put a grounded plate underneath.

A few years back I had some punk mf'er sneak into my back yard and actually steal the spare tire off the back of my Jeep. Had to take the three lugnuts off and all that crap. A-holes....

I know all about "booby traps" may I suggest the Ammo Box Nails type.justincredible;1466469 wrote:It's a shame that I'd need to "booby trap" my front porch furniture, but yeah, not a bad idea.
Simple but effect and painful.
One wooden or metal (ammo box were used) box about the size of a shoe box
Pound nails into the box on a angle leading downward they don’t have to be long just sharp, you want the foot to slip past them and down into the box , secure in the ground (anchor someway) cover the box with some sticks or leaves .. Place on where you think is the entrance or exit path…
Step in .. pull foot out … nails dig into flesh … more they fight deeper the mails go … can move ( call for help or bleed to death ) with a hand grenade under the box by trying to pull the foot out the grenade trigger would be set and 3 second later everyone would know where you’re at..
I think I still have the skill for a trip flares and claymores

Then you live too close to the ghetto, we all know those 'ghettoans' can't afford the gas to drive very far.justincredible;1466492 wrote:I live in a nice area. Unfortunately it's a magnet for theft. People from the ghetto come and steal our ****.
Hope this helps.
Seriously, that sucks, I have yet to have anything stolen from my house, and honestly never did growing up either. We have been quite lucky.

One positive from this theft is that it pushes my wife that much closer to wanting to get the hell out of the city and move to the country. She's never been too keen on the idea of moving to a rural area but she is really starting to warm up to the idea in the last few months.

I was also being facetious about running electricity through the chair as "booby traps" can have legal ramifications if you seriously injure or kill someone with one (even if they were trespassing). A warning system to alert you is fine. Something designed to hurt them is not.

Even if they post a sign saying it's electrified?
It'd be pretty shitty if it said no trespassing, home electrified and someone came onto the property got hurt and won a lawsuit.

BTW, I'm not planning on electrifying my porch furniture. Any sort of rigging of furniture in the future would be for the sole purpose of making a lot of fucking noise to wake us up and/or scare them away.

I think you should set it up to catch them by the leg, dangle them upside down, and have a midget punch them in the face repeatedly.

As much as I hated to do it, I ended up putting up a few security cameras. Was not that hard to do and was pretty cheap. I put up some signs about video surveillance and have had no issues since. I live in the country so yea the shit happens out here too.

Yeah, but at least if you catch them in the act it's a little easier to "dispose" of them.mcburg93;1466542 wrote:As much as I hated to do it, I ended up putting up a few security cameras. At my mom's they have a thing that buzzes in the house whenever someone drives down their driveway. I am thinking of maybe putting something like this on the porch that would buzz in our bedroom if someone came on the porch at night.

My wife just called me to let me know someone stole the furniture off of our front porch. Two nice chairs with a small table. Her grandma got the set for us as a housewarming gift 5 years ago. Still in perfect condition. And now we'll need to spend hundreds of dollars to replace them just to worry about the fuckstains coming back and taking the new set as well.
