I was unaware that running steps was harmful, I thought that it was to improve calves.BR1986FB;1715582 wrote:Interesting....

As Arnold would say, "you need to shock the muscles." You need to change your workout every couple weeks in some sense. If you're doing the same routine, play around more with weight, set, and rep ranges.jmog;1715198 wrote:I have been at a actual weight plateau for about a month even though I had been eating the same number of calories per day and same workout regimen throughout the week (workout every day, alternate days between cardio and weights)
I had lost about 13 lbs since November. Then I had sat at the same weight (187) for a month straight.
I have not changed my workouts, I have not changed the total calories. All that I changed was the carb to protein ratio I was eating (before calories were like 60% carbs, 20% protein, 20% fat...now its about 40% protein, 40% carbs, 20% fat).
I have dropped 4 lbs in two weeks just with a higher protein diet.

I keep the same routine each week, but every day is different if that makes sense.Raw Dawgin' it;1715723 wrote:As Arnold would say, "you need to shock the muscles." I go 3 days of cardio (walking/sprinting) and 3 days of lifting each week. The lifting varies each time to either chest/arms, legs/back, etc. I do also up the weight as I can handle it and as I get stronger.
I definitely change the lifting days up all the time. I guess what I meant was my routine hadn't changed as in how much I am working out and how many calories I was eating.
I have majorly changed my ab workouts recently, more concentrating on lower abs and obliques now (many different planks, leg lifts, etc) where before was basically straight crunches and weighted crunches.

Can someone cut/paste this? Or at least the list? My work server won't allow that site for some reason.BR1986FB;1715582 wrote:Interesting....

I don't clean dog shit during the winter. So every spring a day is dedicated to filling up a wheelbarrow full of a winter's worth of dog shit from two dogs.Raw Dawgin' it;1715751 wrote:New dog?

Yeah. It is the path to to growth. Short growth spurt, slight dip, long plateau, short growth spurt, slight dip, long plateau, etc....thavoice;1716766 wrote:Any ya'll ever go through spurts where ya just feel like you arent getting anywhere and then all of a sudden you feel like you make pretty good gains all at once?

Ok good. I know that is how it seems to have been with running over the years. This was the first time in a very long time I really started to lift and was getting a little frustrated until my last session where I seemed to really notice the increases.birddog23;1716769 wrote:Yeah. Just as I was making great strides I come down with a back issue sunday. Sat/Sun are my big run days where I get 3 runs in. Took about 5 steps yesterday and bam.....back spasms. Thought I got it worked out and tried it later in the day but nope.
Very tight today, but will try to give it a go tonite

Walk is def on the agenda. Today just seems very tight but without the pain. Have had this periodically and the first day is the worst with the pain, after that it just gets tight.Raw Dawgin' it;1717317 wrote:or walk and stretch and take a day off?
It is almost like one of those things that the more I baby it, the longer it lingers.

I haven't done anything different really, but I'm making a big jump right now. I've increased weight by about 10% on just about everything in the past week. Feels great.

I am about 10.5 months in (started working out last May) and I am down 31 pounds. I am basically right at where I want to be weight wise (could be a couple lbs lighter and wouldn't be terrible).
I have went from doing bench sets of 175 to 275 in that 10.5 months (other exercises have gone up too, but not as drastic). I am switching to more strength training and less cardio now that I am real close to the goal weight (had been doing about 3 days each a week, now will probably do 4 strength and 2 cardio).
