For those who do the occasional protein shake, some decent recipes here. You'll have to scroll past Biotest pimping their product but I like the coffee ice cube idea....

I get gains on a regular basis by (1) utilizing a quality workout plan and (2) sticking with it. In less than 30 minutes a day. That trumps any "I have this top secret awesome plan, but you gotta come here cuz I'm not saying out loud!!!!" deal.

Some professional athletes spend $100,000 a year to keep themself peak level of physical condition and to find that small advantage..... And you want me to give away the information ..... I enjoy profit, nothing free that has value

Slept from 5 PM until 5 AM this morning, and planning on hitting the weights twice today. Already hit leg press, leg curl, shoulder press, weighted dips, seated rows and rope curls for 8 sets each. Squats, close-grip bench and chins this evening for 8 sets each.

No way I could handle this volume without about 48 hours of rest and 12+ hours of sleep. But it's possible. It just has to be a priority!

the only way I could sleep at 5pm is drugs, especially since it's bright until almost 9pm.

Also, 48 sets seems excessive imo.

Phenibut and Melatonin. Puts me out like a baby.

Volume and frequency is the key for hypertrophy. Most of my workouts are 35-45 sets anyway.

Back in the mid-80's, when I first started getting involved with the bodybuilding scene, the gym owner where I trained, who was Mr Eastern USA, had us doing over 30+ sets for arms (bi's AND tri's-60+ sets) alone. After about 20 sets you felt nothing in your arms. There's hypertrophy and there's stupidity. Might explain why there was a candy dish at the bottom of the steps, upon entrance, full of roids that said "help yourself." Almost impossible to train at that volume, successfully, without hitting the gear.

Well, that's also something I'd like not to discuss here either, haha.

It's an interesting debate though. Some people can handle excessive volume if it's not compound movements. I mean, of those 48 sets, something like leg curls, rope curls and seated rows aren't all that demanding.

BR, did that happen to be up in NE Ohio? Have you happened to listen to Iron Radio before?
