Microsoft did an about-face and no longer will require an Internet connection (only for initial console setup), no online check-in every 24 hours, games will play the same offline as on, used games won't have any strings attached, etc.

Other than it costing $100 more than PS4, MS changed everything that everyone was bitching about. Nice.
lol PS pwned Microsoft.

At E3? Yes. In terms of product and sales? Time will tell. But these were the main gripes of most and MS listened to the gamers and changed it up. This move by MS is a game changer.

I hope all those "Gamers" boycott Xbox One now like they said they would once MS flipped the switched and backpedaled from their imbecilic attempts.

Yeah, same here.

My only problem before was the used game restrictions...I buy a ton of used games on amazon, then sell them back after beating them, so I basically pay maybe 10-15 per game when considering what I bought it for less my resale price back to amazon....

The extra $100 for kinect is worth it for me because I have kids that will like it.

The kinect has been my only problem with it this whole time, but I'm going with the X-Box for sure. I just wish I didn't have to spend an extra $100 on something I'll never use.

I will continue to buy Xbox products. Playstation has had way more serious problems then Microsoft has had with their gaming network. I'm a pretty serious gamer and no one I know on Xbox plans to change to PS4

The PC version already had 64 players in BF3, so the game already had the ability.

This makes me want to get the One now. Basically the PS4 has nothing over the Xbox that I care about anymore (besides a few indie games). The Media value of the one is going to be far superior which at my age is starting to become important.

He didn't say the game would be ramping it up, but rather PSN.

LOL @ the people "flipping"

They're all going to copy from one another anyway, so you might as well get the cheaper console.

I would get the cheaper console if I didn't believe that Microsoft Live is way better then the playstation network or if I didn't care that my personal information could be easily stolen that's to playstation

I only play FIFA by myself, so I might as well go cheap. I don't care about playing online. I used to do some gaming online with Halo, but that's pretty much died off.

I imagine my gaming will continue to dwindle as I continue getting older and my career continues to mature. I enjoy gaming with my players and will with my kids (when they happen). But, it's not a big deal to have online capabilities. I may make the switch to PS4. I was a PS2 guy, so it's not a big deal for me. In the end, a $100 is not a big difference. I'll wait until things actually happen to make a choice.

I really don't like paying for XBL every year though. I don't utilize it as much as most gamers. I used to when we did HuluPlus and such. But we've got cable now. Unless things really change with better streaming capabilities, I don't know if the apps are really THAT worth it. I wish they were better.

Yeah, the thing that #MrPS3 #hashtagoverusing #fanboyguy is failing to pick up on is that for the past generation, the exclusives and blu-ray capabilities were their system's only advantage. The PS3 had more processing power, but for many games, that really didn't matter because a company wasn't going to make, say, Red Dead Redemption for the 360 and then make a better version of that game for the slightly more powerful system. They made the game for the 360 and ported it to the PS3, negating the advantage of more power.

When it comes to system wars, it all winds up going down to personal preference for whatever reason. PS3 had overall better exclusives and had blu-ray abilities. 360 had a better price and could handle games like Skyrim and Fallout: New Vegas better due to a superior memory cache for those games' saves (kind of a huge deal for me, as I've spent more time with Elder Scrolls and Fallout games on my system than all other games combined).

I did 360 because of price. When/if I get a next-gen system, it'll probably be PS4 because of price.

I was indifferent either way. I had a 360, but I only used it for sports games which both systems have anyway.

I probably won't even bother buying a next-gen system, but find it comical that everyone is suddenly singing a different tune after Microsoft backtracked on their plans.

Microsoft could always flip the switch on DRM afterward, since it's clearly their intention to go with it.

Sony seemed to have already laid out what their plans were, so I can't see them suddenly changing their minds, especially after this fiasco.

If I were a serious gamer I'd go with the PS4 because it's cheaper, and it'd be a "fuck you" to Microsoft for even considering putting those restrictions on the console.
