Not for love. The cavs are willing to give up wayyyy too much for him.

lol.

Gilbert with a stunna!

Dude is a lazy POS, but might have the most talent (along with BMac)...we will see if the NBA gets him to care.

Thoughts on Cavs No. 1 overall pick, UNLV F Anthony Bennett ...
I really think this is going to be a pick the Cavaliers end up trading. I could be wrong, I've been wrong before. That said, one scout, from the Western Conference, told me today he felt like Bennett is the best overall player in this draft.

I said on the other thread. Bennett has the most skill along with McLemore. But he has some issues he needs to overcome.

He is better than TT though, so he could be on his way out imo.

No idea who you are quoting but Andy Katz said right after the pick(on Twitter and it was shown on ESPN) that they are keeping this pick.

Me too. I was telling friends for a while now that I wanted this guy but figured the cavs would listen to the media and take Noel. He's big, can run the floor, and score from anywhere.

Don't hate the move but it was definitely a WTF moment. Chris Grant dgaf what the media or fans think. He goes with his gut. Worked with Dion and TT. Hope Bennett pans out. I'd like to see Bennett log more minutes at SF. If Draymond Green who's pretty slow can be an effective SF (in the playoffs nonetheless) for some spurts then Bennett could. Just get down to 235-240 and work on getting a little quicker and I'll be much happier.

I like the pick.. I just really didn't want them to take Noel.

Might as well go for the home run if you don't think anyone is a sure thing.

Someone on RCF put it nicely: we didn't bring in Mike Brown to draft defensive players, we brought him in to teach defense to offensively gifted players.

With that being said, I love our draft. I watched Bennett quite a few times because the MWC was on out here a lot, and I was pretty impressed every time. Back when I thought we'd get the 3rd or 4th pick (before the lottery) I wanted him. Since there wasn't a clear cut #1, I'm okay with it. He needs to lose some of that weight he put on, but there's great potential.

I thought for sure we would have to trade up to get Karasev so the fact he fell to #19 I'm very happy. I also like the Felix pick as he's a very solid wing defender. He was good defensively against Arizona both times. Terrible offensively the first time, but the second time we played he dropped 22 with a fairly decent set of moves. We'll see what happens.

All in all I say A- or B+

I agree I was on the unlv bandwagon all year. I love Bennett's game. A lot of people think Bennett is fat but he's just a thick guy. He plays at about 235 which is good size for a 6"7. I love the fact he has a post up game also that compliments his shooting. I really thought At times UNLV didn't get him the ball enough. His defense needs work but he has the athletic ability to be an average defender

Myck Kabongo as Kyrie's backup? Went undrafted and already lives with Tristan. At least get him on the summer team and see what he's got.

I like that for sure. Would also like to see us bring in Seth Curry for summer league.

I'm not a fan. Only because I think its dumb to have hmi and TT on the same team. 2 top 4 picks in 3 years at PF? GFY CG

Bennett will play both sf and pf. He gives the cavs a lot of options on offense. They can play big with Andy tt and Bennett or we can play small with Bennett at pf and tt at center.

If Bennett is playing SF we are in trouble. Have you ever watched him? I absolutely don't doubt his ability. I personally thought he was the best player in the draft. But he's a 4. He can maybe give us 4-5 mins of SF in limited matchups. The problem I have isn't with Bennett. It's with having him and TT. Why didn't we take Jonas @ 4 instead of TT? Or Harrison Barnes or Drummond last year and Mclemore this year? I have doubt in Bennett. I have doubts in how we are assembling the team.
