I believe he was calling Belly's response political. That post has since been removed from this thread.

No. You didn't see the post that I removed. If I thought yours was political I would have unapproved it or moved it to the other thread.

I loved that the singer just put the microphone at his side so that the crowd could all sing. Gave me chills.

Part of me feels sad, though. I think the crowd should sing the Anthem like that all the time, not just after something like this.

I fucking hate the media. I'm to the point where I don't even want to click links for new "developments."

If I were those two kids, I'd be suing NY Post for a nice sum. Should be more than enough to pay for college.

If I was the one kid I'd use the money to change my name from Salaam to Sam (as in Uncle...) in a heartbeat.

...probably get a skin bleach too so I wasn't so "dark skinned".

I hope he takes it all the way to jury trial and goes for the absolute max. It's a shame the writer and editor can't be charged criminally.

We can laugh at some of the mistakes the media has made, but there's absolutely no excusing this one. One of the gravest, most heinous errors they can make. And all involved need to be taught a serious lesson.

Shit, college and a life of some degree of luxury is what I'd go for! If the Post is going to set new standards for irresponsible stupidity (which is getting harder and harder for them to do this week), might as well set the punitive damage bar high enough to hurt them to the Chapter 13 level.

Realistically, $250k is probably fair and reasonable...get the right jury and it could easily be into several million - comes down to how punitive the jury wants to be.

That's why I hope he doesn't settle. To really punish the NY Post, in particular, and help prevent similar incidents in the future, we NEED a public trial with lots of press coverage.

Yeah that's what it looks like to me.

Also, fbi.gov has crashed.
