Fuck it Tiger just withdraw go bang Lindsay Vonn and let everyone go back to not caring about golf this weekend. When all the old timers say he should withdraw it makes them look ignorant to the fact that he revialtilized their sport and allowed not only himself but others on the tour to make millions of extra dollars a year.

Dropping a ball 2 yards back from your previous shot so you don't hit the pin again isn't the same as dropping a ball from your previous spot as nearly as possible. He knowingly broke a rule. To argue he shouldn't be disqualified is retarded.

You really think he dropped it back 2 yards so he didnt hit the pin again? He could hit that exact same shot from the exact same location 20,000 times and not hit the pin again lol


Fact is, his drop did little to nothing to give him an advantage. He was in the middle of the fucking fairway, it wasnt like he was dropping to get a better lie

Watching golf channel and they just said it was 2 calls. One in the afternoon after his drop and the rules committee okayed it after looking, and then one again at night around 10pm after Tiger's interview and that's when they assessed the penalty.

Tiger actually said he dropped it further back so he could try to land it short of the pin the second time. The thing is, he didn't realize that doing so would be a violation of the rule. That's his mistake. He misinterpreted the rule, and because of that, the penalty (while kind of crazy) is justified.

DQing him, however, is what I would disagree with because the rules officials said he was ok and could sign his scorecard. He wouldn't have intentionally signed an incorrect scorecard. The penalty sucks, but it's technically the right call. A DQ would be ridiculous, especially with the new amendment to the rule that was put in place to avoid this type of situation.

Plain and simple, the people who don't like Tiger are gonna call for a DQ and the people who like him, or are indifferent, will be fine with the penalty.

I am a fan of Tiger Woods. He generates a buzz in any tourney he plays and I usually want him to win. Having said that, he dropped the ball where he did to improve his chances of being closer to the pin. He said this himself. THIS is a rules violation!

Paul Azinger was DQ'd years ago after signing a correct card too. The next day a viewer informed the USGA that video shows Azinger moving a rock with his foot before hitting a ball out of the water. He was penalized a day later and done!!

There was a rule put in in 2010 changing this.

I kicked it out from behind the tree so I wouldn't hit the tree. Didn't know it was against the rules. We cool bro? My 4 still good?

If he was trying to deceive everyone, why the hell would he admit what he did in his post-round interview? He obviously didn't realize he had made a mistake.

The thing that threw this off was the fact that his ball ricocheted off in a different direction from where the line of his original shot was hit. He thought he just had to hit from the same line, not the exact spot. I'm not a rules expert, but at least that's the impression I'm getting. It seems like it was an honest mistake, and if it wasn't, why would he tell on himself?

The issue isn't if he knew or not. It's if a rule was broken or not. Ignorance of rules don't make them invalid.
