Truth be told, if you don't want to be nickled and dimed (like maintenance fees), then don't bank at small regional banks. More specifically, don't bank with institutions who's major profit stream comes from consumer banking. Banks like BofA, Chase, and Wells Fargo make more money from their commercial banking, investment, and mortgage areas anyway.
Well no shit banks make money off accounts. But I have not had to pay a cent to PNC therefore for me as the customer my bank account is free. I don't give a shit if a bank makes money from my account as long as I'm not paying then a single cent. Also I don't have a minimum account balance either.
