First, I'm actually being 100% serious.
Does it bother you, at all, that when you receive a promotion, a job offer, etc., that it may not (may not) be because you are the better candidate for said job offer or promotion, but rather to meet a certain quota?
I'll give you an example. It's known in the basketball officiating ranks, that if you are a minority or a woman, and you are a decent basketball official, you will have a fast track to the "top." Let's take HS officiating, for example. If you are minority or a woman, you will make your way to the state tournament, much faster than a white male, who is better quality. The reason? "They" want to have more diversity being shown on the court during the state tournament.
Now, I understand the desire to show diversity, but by stating they want more diversity, they are making the quality of the worker secondary, or even tertiary to the color of their skin, or whether or not they have a ball-sack.
How do you feel about this?
