There shouldn't be a preference based on sex or race period.

If you could switch places with a black man tomorrow would you?

Fuck no you wouldn't and you know you wouldn't.
That's what you are using to support your argument? LOL.

as far as the topic im quite sure there are plenty of male drivers better than danica patrick but for the fact that she is a woman and adds something to the sport. whether that be increased interest or higher ratings or in general broadening the brand. same goes for highering minorities or women, what does it mean to be the "best"?? It is importnant to higher them because the more different types of people, ideas and backgrounds you have at your company or business the more likely you are to be successful. If you have all of the same types of people you are going to get the same type of ideas from people coming from the same type of backround ect..

as far as discrimination in hiring of course it still exists.. people are more likely to hire someone who looks and acts like them, someone they are more comfortable with, this goes for black and white. so if whites are doing 99 percent of the hiring they are more likely to hire someone white. you certainly arent at a disatvantage ever being white. people who QQ over a few handout jobs or scholarships that are holding the white man down make me LOL
that has nothing to do with race, that has to do with personality. If it's my prerogative to hire who I think is the best candidate, then why is there legislation in place for blacks and women to have equal opportunities? Being born in this country inherently means you have equal rights. If the race and sex card stopped being played we wouldn't be having this discussion. It's too easy to place race and sex for why you're not good enough. Also, hip hop culture and thug mentalities do nothing to help black people.

A black man is president - so being black does not hold you back. Black stereotypes are what ruin things for most black people.

missed opportunities are what hold you back. Obama had a better circumstance than most in this country.

I don't disagree, but recognize the absurdity of white males being the ones who get to declare an end to racism and sexism.

Are you implying that all black people haven't made it (or don't have it made) and can't make it? As RD pointed out, our president is black. GTFO with these fail cop out excuses for not succeeding.

Also, your questions is a fucking reach. If you are implying the black person is poor and unintelligent, then of course not. However, i can flip the same question to the black equivalent of me. Would he want to trade lives with a white person who was poor and unintelligent? I highly doubt it.

Now if you are asking if I would trade spots with the black equivalent of me, I wouldn't QQ. Sure, I prefer white culture over black culture to be honest, however I would move up the chain much quicker than I can now, that's for sure. College would have been less expensive as well.

This post is pretty amazing. First you assume that a "poor and unintelligent" minority was implied when no one iterated that all...which is probably pretty revealing. Then, you suggest that you wouldn't switch races over an appeal to "black culture" even when you claim to know that you would achieve a better life and/or standard of living (which is absurd) and when there's plenty of blacks who have assimilated into "white culture". But, if you really believe this and you wouldn't it take it, it reveals that you're definitely not getting passed over because of your race...LoL

Raw Dawgin' it;1396227 wrote:So i should feel guilty about where i was born is what you're saying? So dealing with finding a better job that pays enough to support my family and pay my bills isn't important because there are people in other parts of the world who live in a hut? This argument goes both ways. If they want to get to this country then then can find a way, just like i could take my money that i earned and go live there for $100 a year.

If you knew that you were passed over for a job because the other person was black would you go back to your desk and go "but there are people without water, so this isn't a big deal at all."
My video was directed specifically at Snot saying that it "sucks to be a white boy". I'm fairly sure he was being a little sarcastic when he said it. (could be wrong) I can understand being upset about being passed over for someone you think is less qualified than you, but it hardly sucks to be a white boy.

what makes the best candidate?? maybe being black made me the best candidate? do higher grades make someone the best candidate?? terell suggs ran a 4.8 40 at the combine...well behind many guys at his position look how that projected to success. its not all about numbers. again adding diversity does add value, you expand your point of view and broaden your knowledge at your business by highering different types of people. do you want only those people with the highest grades?? or do you want somone who maybe didnt have the highest grades but thinks outside the box? my point is what do you mean when you say the best candidate??

Oh, for shits sake. Stop with hypotheticals and all of the different scenarios. I'm only asking about the possibility. Do you feel guilty (like white people are supposed to), if you get a job, and there is a possibility that you are not the best candidate, and there is a possibility that there was a superior white male candidate, to offer more to the company, using ANY of the scenarios you used?
