I had something similar happen. I was out to dinner and had a to-go box with like 4-5 slices of a supreme pizza in it. On my way to the car I got hit up for change so I gave the guy my food. He opened the box and said "what is this? I like meat lovers" and then proceeded to ask me again for money. I think I already mentioned it here, but an expose of panhandlers showed some of the ones in NYC to be making upwards of $40,000 a year, tax-free. I sometimes give money, and if I do, I don't care what they spend it on. If a pack of smokes or a King Cobra is more important to them than eating, then so be it.
