With the bracket out that is a huge part of who goes on to the Schott, heres how i think theyll finish. if your name isnt where you want it use it as motivation!

106) 1. Nace (TV) 2. Gutierrez (PN) 3. Furnas (OL) 4. Laney (GM) 5. Gill (HDav) 6. Oberly (WK)

I think this weight finishes the same way it did at The Pickerington North Sectional. Gill and Thorton (M'Ville) meet up in the consi quaters and that could go either way, i give the winner 5th

113) 1. Riley (MV) 2.Brusco (DH) 3. Disabato (WN) 4. Thomas (OL) 5. Dooley (TV) 6. Manarolla (DC)

Kinda surprised with some of the results i saw at sectional in this weight class. Thomas vs Dooley was a bigger match than both of them realized. Dooley beats sectional champ Mcgrath in consi quaters and Dooley loses against disabato im the match to go amd gets the alternate spot. Watching Manarolla major Hines at Watkins was a huge shock. They rematch in the consi quaters and im gonna have to give it to manarolla after this weekend.

120) 1. Timchenko (OO) 2. Wimer (CC) 3. Rahmani (M'Ville) 4. Penzone (OL) 5. Valenti (HD) 6. Ackley (TW)
The most anticipated weight at Darby. Ive got Wimer beating Valenti in the Semi. Valenti wrestles Penzone who is gonna come off an exciting match with Fluty. Valenti is clearly a big move kid. Pinned Penzone at Pick North but Penzone has a 10-3 win over him at Wadsworth. I take Penzone to win the rematch and qualify. Ackley beats zeller then terry im consi quaters and loses to rahmani and valenti to get 6th

126) 1. Smith (HDav) 2. Rooney (StC) 3. Sparks (M'Ville) 4. Kakos (FH) 5. Lieb (WM) 6. Hogue (PC)

Finals should be a rematch of Westland, which was alot closer than I thought! Kakos beats Lieb in quaters. Kakos then loses to Smith. This makes to go matches Hogue vs Kakos and Lieb vs Sparks. 5th and 6th will br rematch of watkins sectional final that Lieb won in OT

132) 1. McDougle (GL) 2. Wilson (HDav) 3. Hinkle (MV) 4. Sepeda (M'Ville) 5. McGrath (HB) 6. Messaral (TW)

Most anticipated FINALS in my opinion, more on the capitalization later. Giving it to McDougle for the head to head win, could go either way. I have Durieux winning the big first round match up against Messaral. Messaral battles all the way to the to go match but loses to Hinkle. Durieux loses to Wilson in quaters and gets Sepeda in the consi quaters. Winner of this goes to the Schott IMO. Giving it to Sepeda now because of the head to head last weekend but could go either way. Freshman Raezel Garrett (DH) could be a sleeper too.

138) 1. Forrider (M'Ville) 2. Mcdougle (GL) 3. Miller (L) 4. Lawler (HDav) 5. Neely (UA) 6. Holter (WM)

Forrider vs Mcdougle in the final no questions asked. Lawler drops to wrestle Holter to go. Neely loses to miller. Neeley beats Holter for the alternate spot.

145) 1. Ryan (OL) 2. Staten (MV) 3. Pollit (O) 4. Llaneza (WC) 5. Black (HD) 6. Driscoll (HB)

I think depth wise this is the best weight. Ive got some pretty good kids ending up 1-2. Pollit wins huge first round match up vs Black. Black battles all the way back to lose to Pollit again in the match to go, or Pollit could wrestle Dibenedetto or Comfort in the match to go it honestly could be any of them. Pollit beats all three i think. Llaneza beats Driscoll in the match to go.

152) 1. Lancia (WM) 2. Yarger (PC) 3.Hinz (WN) 4. Deluse (L) 5. Trochio (DS) 6. Neely (UA)

This is a weight im kinda always doubting myself 3-6. Could turn out in any orde. I think Yarger beats cannon hinz and neely on his way to the district final while lancia beats chappelear deluse and trochio to reach te final. Deluse beats neely to go and trochio vs hinz should be a good one. I think Hinz wins this.

160) 1. Boyd (M'Ville) 2. Bond (L) 3. Wooden (DC) 4. Bondurant (PC) 5. Watson (UA) 6. Moore (HDav)

Boyd beats Wooden in Semis. Bond vs Bondurant semi i take Bond. Bondurant beats Moore in the to go match, pretty sure theyve already wrestled and Bondurant won. Wooden beats Watson to go. 3rd place match will be good. Wooden and Bondurant had a 9-8 match at the Watkins final

170) 1. Sunkle (PC) 2. Reid (UA) 3. Walker (HD) 4. Stratton (HB) 5. Dial (PN) 6. Funk (L)

The reason i capitalized "FINAL" im the 132 post is because i think the best match of the tournament could very well be the Sunkle vs Walker Semi. Most of you have Walker as a heavy favorite, but i guess you would have to see sunkle wrestle to understand. Both State qualifiers and only common opponent i can find is ethan bond, the only problem is walker wrestled him last year and won 6-5 and 9-2, sunkle wrestled him this year and won 7-2. Kind of bad way to compare, but still think this will be the most exciting match. I havr Stratton beating Funk. Funk lost to Dial 6-2, and Stratton has a 15-5 win over dial. Funk loses in the match to go against the Walker/Sunkle Semi, and stratton beats dial in the other match to go. 5th place match got to give it to the head to head winner

Will do 182-Heavy tomorrow

Walker and Sunkle do have a common opponent this yr.
They both wrestled Stratton.
Did Sunkle not wrestle Funk this yr?
I am intrigued on this matchup.
I have not seen Sunkle wrestle at all so its hard for me to really say that he could beat Walker. I keep hearing great things about him tho.
I do know Walker and he has been great this yr.
His only 3 losses were to the D3 #1 Stanley in getting OUT of a spladle, D2 #1 Cramer and to D1 #3 Corba.
All were very close matches and could have gone the other way.
I wished this would be the final!

Sunkle had about 5 or 6 takedowns when he pinned stratton about 30 seconds into the second, his two losses came from returning D3 state champ mays from nelsonville and then 5-4 match against Schmidt from Miamisburge in the GMVWA finals. Think walker lost to Schmidt 6-4 at state tourney last year. And nope he and funk havent wrestled since either freshman or sophomore year. Walker wrestled Cramer VERY well. Clearly the two best guys at 170 at Darby, kinda like Ryan and Forrider last year

I agree on your top 4 who all came out of PN section. Really screwed a good kid younger Valenti to qualify.
Gill and Thorton both are capable of spoiling the party and dont count either out. Gill already beat Laney I believe, not sure if Thorton matched up with any of them? That 4 spot is open for the taking.

Laney vs Gill this year i think is 3-1 Laney or 2-1, i just know theyve wrestled multiple times. Both have to bring their A game to beat the other, especially since if they match up itll e the match to go to state

Another great Sectional from PN. I think 4 of the top 5 were there.
Ryan on another level.
Staten looks really good. He and Black had a good match in semis. Staten hit a nice 4 pt move early but black battled back to get within a TD at the end and tried a desperation shot that Staten countered at the buzzer.
Llaneza is the BIG benefactor in his big win over black for 3rd. Quite a difference in needing to beat a very talented Pollit(who maybe the 2nd best here) to go instead of the field. The field behind those 3 are all very close so anything could happen.
Pollitt and Black had a common at Medina, but I think Pollitt has changed gears since them. Both are very contrasting styles so it will be interesting.

As everyone is, I am getting my popcorn ready for this weight.
Kakos and Lieb bump to 26 which I think gets Kakos out.
Fluty dropping was a bit of a head scratcher to me but he could be a spoiler.
Timchenko looks to be ahead of the class with a great shot at bringing home a state championship to the orange.
Everyone is counting Valenti out and I love it. He definitely got the better draw with the big win over Penzone.
As Ive mentioned before the kid is a gamer! His semi with wimer should be a doozy! I love the brotherly love he gave to the lil wimer getting him qualified at 113.
Bottom half is ridiculous here! Friday night fireworks for sure!

I figured with you taking the initiative on starting this thread it could serve as the conversation thread for districts this week. Just wanted to point out the first round matches to be looking out for.

106- Laney vs. Campbell, unfortunately for the rest of the district at 106 the PN sectional was stacked here really setting up some "upsets" as far as seeding goes. I think this match goes to Laney. Will definitely be a good match though

113- Hines vs Cooper, should be a great match to watch. I pick Hines in this one. Also Dooley vs. Transue should be a good one. I have Transue winning but the loser get a better shot a qualifying as the winner will likely lose to Brusco and flip bracket to have to wrestle loser of Santino and Riley

120- What a mess of a bracket lol, first round match to watch here is Gasca vs. Ackley. Ackley the better wrestler imo, but Gasca should make this a good match to watch.

126- The match I would expect to be the most competitive here is Lieb vs Shaut. Im calling the upset here of Shaut winning

132- Durieux vs Messeral will be a great match. Unfortunately the way the bracket falls I don't see either of them qualifying though. My pick goes to Durieux

145- Pollitt vs. Black how about that for a first round match!!! Probably the match to watch first round. I could see this going either way honestly but I'll take Pollitt. That dude is a man on a mission after what happened last year. Also Hammond vs Llaneza is a big match. Winner could make noise in the end and possibly qualify. I take Hammond in this match

152- Deluse vs. Donatelli is the match to watch here. Donatelli is very athletic and has big move ability. I still think Deluse will win but will be closer than people expect and has upset potential

170- Johnston vs Dial here. Im taking Johnston to win

Other weights I am not very familiar with all the kids. These are just some of the matches I know I will be looking to watch first round. This is just all my opinion as well. There is a reason guys have to actually go out and wrestle. I will also post my own personal predictions at some point tomorrow. TheGoToMatch did a good job so I may only post weight where my opinion differentiates.

He wrestled 160 all yr and just made the cut.
Hes a soph but very good.
I was surprised at how he handle deluse. Kind of a head scratcher of a 11-10 match before that with Pearson if you put it in context.
I think Lancia is head and shoulders above field. Then Id say Hinz Yarger and Deluse are at the next tier. Then there are a half a dozen others that all can beat each other, it just depends on who gets hot.
Very interesting weight.

He beat Caniglia from Loveland, Beat Mankin, Hood by pin and Simpson by TF all CDQ's at 160, lost to Bond 5-4 at Medina. Was beating Pearson 11-4 with seconds left and got caught riding out match Final was 11-9 ( several wrong scores posted at MV ).

Impressive! I haven't seen him wrestle, but based on that I agree with you. He and Lancia will decide who's 1-2 coming out of Darby. Glad they are on different halves of the bracket.

no i still think yarger beats hinz. He has has a WBF over chappealear, a 6-0 decision over Neeley, a 13-3 major over Holloway, and a major and a WBF over pearson. Yarger wins in the quaters vs Hinz and Hinz battles back beating donatelli, notestine, and torochio in the match to go.

WC's Krasovic and Darby's Donatelli are two I've been impressed with. I wouldn't be surprised to see either or both of them have an impact on who makes it out of Darby. I think this has the potential to be a very wide open and surprising weight class.

yarger and deluse never met in their duel. That wouldve been a good way to compare. Looks like they have a few common opponents though

He got 3rd at the Kevin Cleveland, losing (by pin) to the kid from Indian Lake who eventually won the tournament.

Not trying to make excuses, and more than likely thats what this is, but id call the indian lake match a fluke, caught on a headlock in the first 30 seconds. The indian lake kid wasnt heath lange either, yarger beat lange last season 12-6 and by pin.

Not sure how much it really matters, Hinz beat S. Deluse by 11 the Indian Lake kid beat Deluse by 6. ( sorry all I can find common)

Llaneza has beat Hammond twice. Not that it matters this is the districts and beating someone a 3rd time is always tough. Should be a great match.
