Then why would you get a dog to begin with?ernest_t_bass;1374697 wrote:b/c we don't have the time to devote to training him.

We got him as a companion dog for our other dog. They are both outside dogs, who have a nice dog shelter to go in and out of. He's just really, really stupid.GoChiefs;1374712 wrote:Then why would you get a dog to begin with?

We rescued our dog, she was found in a puppy mill when she was 5 months old. She had never been out of her cage, could barely walk, she smelled awful and was terrified of people. It took a couple days for her to warm up to us but once she did she turned into a different dog, she is one of the happiest/friendliest dogs that I have ever been around.
You're doing the right thing. Did you guys decide to keep him?

I think we pretty much have, yeah. Gonna be weird having four dogs, but we'll adapt.KR1245;1374848 wrote:We rescued our dog, she was found in a puppy mill when she was 5 months old. Had four dogs until the fall. Down to three now. Two inside and two (one now) outside. Are yours all inside?O-Trap;1374851 wrote:I think we pretty much have, yeah. Gonna be weird having four dogs, but we'll adapt.

Yep. However, since two are small, I don't think it'll be too bad. It'll be a nice medium sized dog, as the other three are 5 lbs, 11 lbs, and 105 lbs, respectively.I Wear Pants;1374853 wrote:Had four dogs until the fall. Down to three now. Do they stay outside year-round? Why do two stay inside and one outside?I Wear Pants;1374853 wrote:Had four dogs until the fall. Down to three now. Two inside and two (one now) outside. Are yours all inside?
I have an uncle that does the same thing, he keeps one dog in the barn(unless its too cold) and keeps the others in the house
Just curious

The toy poodle has to stay inside because he lives inside and would definitely freeze outside. We have a rescue that we've just always let inside since she's so good about everything. Could leave her in for two days and there would likely be no accidents anywhere. And the cats like her. She gets tied up on the porch with a long run when it's nice out or if she needs to go to the bathroom during the daytime.KR1245;1374857 wrote:Do they stay outside year-round? The one that stays outside just always has, he's got long hair and would piss on everything inside. He's got a ton of room to run around and such and has a nice house with a bunch of sofa pillows and a ton of straw that keeps him nice and warm. Last few days when it's been really cold I moved him to the porch just because I don't want to walk all the way out to where he normally is to feed and water him in the cold (probably 150 yds, I'm lazy).

My dog was abandoned as a pup along with 3 other pups from his litter. Someone found them and turned them into the pet shop in alliance by mount union. So I was board 1 day and decided to stop in their with the gf and we saw him and from that moment I absolutely wanted him. He is an Australian shepherd and lab mix so he was only 70 bucks so I bought him without even telling my parents lol. Luckily it was the end of the year and I was about to be on summer break so I took him home and man my parents were pissed. Now I have moved to PA and my parents wouldn't let me take him with me and he is basically my dad's best friend. He follows him every where, goes for car rides, kicks my mom out of bed lol. It sucks I can't keep him here in pa since I live in an apartment and he has no where to run around, so it's better for him to be back in Ohio where he has an acre and a half to run.

Crimson, My Bestfriend had the same thing happen. He owned a Pitbull who his parents absolutely hated because of all the stories about Pitbulls. When his grandparents got really sick they asked him to move back in with them to help take care of them during the day since he worked nights. When he first moved in they told him he couldn't bring his dog then eventually told him ok but it has to stay in the garage. Well within a week the dog was out of the garage and on the couch with the other 2 dogs. He lived there for about 18 months until his grandfather passed away. When he moved out his mom and dad wouldn't let him take the dog with him because they loved it to much.

I asked my parents if I can take my dog back and they told me they will only trade him for my daughter lol. I told them that I will be buying a house in the next year or so and the first thing they said is the dog is staying in Ohio lol. I miss him but he is definitely well taken care of. All you have to mention is a squirrel and he's running to all the windows looking for it and then begs at the door to go outside.

Weird. I rescued a dog off the interstate yesterday. Great dog, potty trained. Chihuahua, white. Great with my kids and dog. He's deaf though. That's a new challenge for me.

Deaf dogs are fun, as I'm finding out. Mine is losing/lost her hearing. She is also reverting back to things she did when she was about a year old. Kinda funny yet sad at the same time. At least the rest of her health is good. Well except she has quit growing hair for some reason. Old age I guess.
