Just my opinion.

If Quinn is back, it won't be for long. I see the Browns taking a QB and grooming him or signing one. Look, Quinn has been there 3 yrs and hasn't done anything to show he can be a great quarterback in the league. DA was awful last year and still got some starts over Quinn. Quinn's arm strength and accuracy are below avg for an NFL QB. You can't win consistently with DBs sitting on underneath routes because there is no threat of the deep ball

I agree. Anybody that thinks Quinn is an nfl qb doesnt know football.

Watching him play.

Plenty of others share our opinion. Its not like we are the only two people in the world who have said this

oh well i forgot peyton manning went 3-13 as a starter his rookie year. i bet they were ready to pimp him too. you can not asses a qb on 12 nfl games when he has ZERO talent around him. and how do you expect any qb to be good when he has 2 seconds to throw? please inform me

Spergon Wynn only got 3 career starts. We'll never know if he was a good QB or not.

Eh I just went through this on another thread. Why are you comparing him to Peyton's rookie year? Quinn is in his 3rd year.

I really don't have a horse in this race, so I don't care. You doggedly defending a guy who has never completed more than 54% of his passes and has never had a QB rating higher than 68 is no skin off my back

You (plural) think that he would not be out there playing if he could?
That type of thinking is insane.

Come on, you really don't believe that do you? No way Holmgren puts QB evaluation on hold just to see if a 4th year below average (so far) QB will become good. Quinn is no fool, he has to know this too. Like I said earlier, this is good for the Browns. For Quinn - not so much. He now has to rely on his body of work to make his case for being the starter. Holmgren will not make the wrong decision.

I think both Locker and Mallet will be successful in the pros, but i'm not sure about any QB's in this years draft class. Bradford has been hurt, so you don't know if he'll be the same. Clausen is one of those ND boys who were 'Pro Ready' and in 'Pro Systems', but I've heard that before...Tebow was good in college, but won't be a good NFL qb. So I would prefer to upgrade our talent this year(mainly defense), and then draft the QB the next year...

3 years of practices, 13 games, etc. May not be a lot, but they didn't bring Holmgren in to win 6 games. Quinn will be at the mercy of his performance thus far. Fair or not, the Browns can't (and won't) wait forever.

Peyton Manning in his first NFL season (his rookie year) threw for 3800 yds (233/per game) 57%, 26 TD's 28 Int's had 42 passes for 20+ yds and 8 passes for 40+ yds.

Brady Quinn in his 3rd year first as a starter has thrown for 1300 yds (133/per game) 53%, 8 TD's 7 Int's had 12 passes for 20+ yds and 3 passes for 40+ yds.

Peyton Manning's team may not have been winning but he sure the heck was putting up stats that said he was going to be something special and the Colts were not loaded with talent yet either.
Brady Quinn hasn't done ANYTHING that says remotely that he is going to be an NFL QB or anything special whatsoever. Actually the complete opposite has happened.

The think Peyton had when he came in that Quinn doesnt is a great WR or RB. Marvin Harrison was on the team as well as Marshall Faulk. Tarik Glenn was the starting LT for Manning but Quinn has Thomas, so that blindside protection is a wash. So to say Peyton didnt have talent is wrong, but I understand what your saying. It wasnt what it is now, and it isnt THAT much better than what Quinn has.

Peyton definitely had better WRs than Quinn does, but Mannings numbers (even rookie year) showed he was gonna be great. The next year, despite the trade of Faulk, when Edge came in, and he was a year older......BAM, 13-3 and the division crown. Brady is nowhere near Peyton in terms of showing us what they have in store for later. Peytons rookie year people were talking about him being top 10 of all time despite being 3-13. Well, they were wrong, he is top 5 easy and maybe the best ever.

If the Browns took Ryan Mallett I would probably snap. The guy completed only 39% of his passes (and went 0-4) against the 4 toughest opponents Arkansas played (Florida, LSU, Bama, and Ole Miss).

Putting up monster stats against Eastern Michigan, Troy, and Mississippi State doesn't sell me on him at all. He has a cannon, but serious accuracy issues.

And he's only a sophomore with a very suspect OL. When he has the time to throw, he is dead on. Oh shit wait...we are talking about the Brown's here...better get some OL protection this year on the right side!
