Howard has a knee bruise. But he is in the lineup tonight and has looked fine. Went 1st to 3rd and actually has had some good swings.

Chase Utley will now have a MRI after he felt pain and a burning sensation in his right rib cage after taking a swing in batting practice Tuesday night.

I thought Vance Worley was supposed to be a solid up-and-coming pitcher with the Phils. What happened to him? Just saw that after getting face-raped by the Braves today, his numbers are at 7.21 ERA and 1.99 WHIP, which pretty much screams "THIS DUDE IS FUCKING WORTHLESS!!!!!"
Just a flash in the pan, or just going through a rough stretch?

I think Harang's career might be over. He just isn't remotely decent right now. Other than against the Pirates (who have a special weakness for older pitchers whose stuff has declined), has he even been able to give any quality starts?hasbeen;1446485 wrote:The Mariners are really bad right now.

That what happens when you play for the Twins lol. He has only had one good year and that was 2011 when he went 11-3. But last year he was 6-9 with a plus 4 era. I was laughing hard when the Twins named him opening day starter.
He will bounce back but he really is only a 3-5 starter not no damn opening day starter.

I think through his first 4 starts this year he was 1-0 with a 2.15 ERA but since then he has imploded. Got demoted to AAA after the game this afternoon. He was 3rd in rookie of the year voting a couple years ago if I heard correctly on the radio today. Seems to be just a really bad rough stretch.

His start prior to the Pirates wasn't bad. Still not at a level the Mariners need. Mariners rely on their pitching staff because the offense is weak.Heretic;1446650 wrote:I think Harang's career might be over. He just isn't remotely decent right now. We were 20-21 after beating the Yankees. Now we're 20-27. Drives me nuts.

Utley is being placed on the 15-day DL. A corresponding roster move will be made to replace him on the 25-man roster.
Chase Utley has been diagnosed with a very mild grade 1 oblique strain. There is no intercostal injury or rib cage injury, Phils said.

From the Yahoo article.
Oh c'mon. Mike Trout is at least at few years from signing with the Yankees.

And with the way the Mets are right now, I'm sure BigAppleBuckeye is overjoyed to know that Matt Harvey snuck out of town to Baltimore...and changed his name so the Mets wouldn't catch on to him.Azubuike24;1447859 wrote:From the Yahoo article.

It is almost June, and Miguel Cabrera is still hitting .385.
Jayson Stark has a column up about how unprecedented his season has been so far. Not only is he following up his triple crown season with a run at another, but he is taking a huge leap in most categories so far if he were to keep up his pace through the season.

Agreed. I think what scared was his first 20 games of the season. He wasn't even hitting the ball well at all and was hitting .330 with 2 HR and 20 RBI. Then he started to hit with power and is now absolutely torching the league. He's only 30 guys, probably has another 3-4 years of elite years leftIggyPride00;1448470 wrote:It is almost June, and Miguel Cabrera is still hitting .385.

He is in a zone right now the likes of which we haven't seen in the post WWII era aside from a juiced up Bonds. It is just amazing to watch.

The AL Central is serious business this year. Indians have some nice firepower, White Sox and Royals can play, even Minnesota can score some runsslingshot4ever;1448575 wrote:White Sox reach .500 with sweep of Miami.
