Agreed. I think what scared was his first 20 games of the season. He wasn't even hitting the ball well at all and was hitting .330 with 2 HR and 20 RBI. Then he started to hit with power and is now absolutely torching the league. Jayson Stark has a column up about how unprecedented his season has been so far. Not only is he following up his triple crown season with a run at another, but he is taking a huge leap in most categories so far if he were to keep up his pace through the season.
He is in a zone right now the likes of which we haven't seen in the post WWII era aside from a juiced up Bonds. It is just amazing to watch.
