New Years Eve marked the end of 2012 as well as the Tigers' season with a crushing loss to Clemson in the Chick-fil-a bowl. Not much to say on that game in particular as my expectations weren't especially high considering the way the ACC comes out to play every week. I kept my fingers crossed that perhaps the layoff wouldn't be quite enough time for Clemson to recover from the week in and week out beatings the ACC teams take in conference play across the board. Sadly, we just couldn't pull it out. Our boys fought hard though, so we have nothing to be ashamed of.

The offense ended the season 87th in total offense, just one place off the mark of the performance of the 2011 squad. That regression, albeit minor, was really surprising to me given the emphasis on improving production on that side of the ball after last year's title game http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=320090099

Mettenberger was the missing link to a championship coming in to 2012 so with another year of seasoning under Miles, I'd say they'll only lose 2 games this year. Solid improvement.

Maybe they can win a bowl game next year.

Coming from a person whose team's not credited with a bowl win since 1/1/10. If you win a bowl game next season, it will be the first bowl win in 4 years.
